NO "Popular Vote" if states choose to have the Legislature Vote for Federal Offices

Do you support state legislatures taking Federal elections instead of popular vote?

  • Yes, Federal elections would be honest, fair and transparent.

    Votes: 5 35.7%
  • No, the popular vote is better, I'll explain why.

    Votes: 9 64.3%

  • Total voters
    14
True, and we could argue about the relative impact of each side’s attempt to gerrymander.
But it’s all the more reason to oppose state legislators handling electors.
1. First sentence is good.
2. Second sentence gets a WTF???

Its a lesser of the evils choice.
Voter fraud, migrant voters, mass mail-ins, Zuckerbucks, 3am ballot dumps, dark money, biased MSM, unauditable voting machines, foreign money, foreign interference, and no one trusts election results anymore.

If you want to reduce the chance or stealing an election, you should support a national popular vote. The national popular vote margin is typically on the order of millions.
No one is going to be able to fabricate millions of votes without being noticed.
Never happen. That would require a Constitutional amendment. You might get 10 states to approve that amendment, but need 38.

State LEGISLATURES decide how their state elections are held.

Popular voting is unpopular, no matter who wins. The other side always cheated.

So how about a formal voice vote by state legislators to decide Federal Elections?

There would be no cheating because the votes would be public voice votes.

The vote counting would be simple, beyond reproach, and immediate.

I like the idea. No commercials. No phone calls.

No big money "Zuckerbucks" buying elections, just our elected state officials doing their jobs.

Legislatures can be gerrymandered.

You vote for your state legislators.
There is no need for a popular Federal election vote, IF the state legislators take that responsibility to avoid the voter fraud issues.
People would take more of an interest in state elections.

If your state legislators take that responsibility, you can immigrate.

Legislative seats can be gerrymandered. In Wisconsin, Democrat candidates got a narrow majority of the votes for state legislature seats yet Republicans hold 60% of the seats.

Lots of people trust elections. Trump supporters don’t because they couldn’t accept that Trump could lose to Biden.

Voting is not evil. People cherish their ability to vote for president.

It’s a shame because it would be way better than letting slim majorities in a handful of swing states decide for the country.

The point is that it would make it impossible to steal an election.

OK. Both parties gerrymander. Its better than the current popular vote scam.

People can still vote. In the primaries, and for all other officials, just not for president and VP.

Elections would still be stolen and/or bought.
These current issues would still happen.

A public state legislature vote would be clean and simple. Unassailable.

So was slavery.
Why not just give up the pretense that we are a democracy? State legislatures are the most sad Gerry rigged monstrosities ever.
Both parties gerrymander, its fair, if its too bad the courts step in. Elections and primaries still happen, just that the legislatures would vote for the president and VP.
Gerrymandering isn't as bad as these:
Voter fraud, migrant voters, mass mail-ins, Zuckerbucks, 3am ballot dumps, dark money, biased MSM, unauditable voting machines, foreign money, foreign interference, and no one trusts election results anymore.

Voter fraud is nearly nonexistent and if you think it’s a problem, it’s not better by letting legislatures vote for president. Same for dark money, foreign interference and illegal migrant voting.

Mail in ballots, ballot dumps and grants from Zuckerberg aren’t a problem. It’s just people voting.

You’re wanting to ditch the system because you lost. That’s it.

Every single problem you listed is equally true for every election, and the smaller the election the easier to steal. Since state legislatures are elected, you’ve solved nothing.

Plus, you’ve added gerrymandering as a means to steal elections, which honestly seems like it’s the point.

We disagree. Based on all of the crooked ways the popular vote gets rigged, the state legislature vote would be simple and beyond reproach.

State elections would be impossible to steal. There are hundreds of local elections managed by local officials. Zuckerbucks wouldn't matter. No dark money, no migrant voters, no mass mail-ins, no 3am ballot dumps, no biased MSM commercials, no unauditable voting machines(backup paper ballots), no foreign money, and no foreign interference.

p.s. whining about gerrymandering after Biden let in 5,000,000 new migrant voters is laughable.

Local elections are easier to steal. Less scrutiny. Fewer fraudulent votes needed. It’s easy to inject small amounts of money to completely overwhelm local opponents who have basically no money.

Presidential elections are hundreds of local elections run by local officials. There’s no difference.

Migrants can’t vote. Not sure why you keep bringing it up.
