Was there really two of every animal in the whole entire world? Also, if all of creation was made in six days does that mean humans and dinosaurs lived together after all? I don't think that they meant literal twenty-four hour days there I was just wondering what the general consensus was for that question. my timeline is accurate and heavenly ... they saw for themselves the celestial bodies and new what they were. the desert is a societal corruption, nothing more its existence is mankind's worst nightmare.

But it averages. The reason for the length discrepancies is to adjust for the lunar calendar drift. That why our holy days are always around the same time. The Chinese use a similar calendar.

While we use 5784 based on calculation done ages ago, it may or may not be accurate. Even ages especially in Torah are suspect. Some posit that because we essentially have 2 start of the year, the 1st day of the first month, and Rosh HaShana, which is the first day of the seven month, ages in Torah may be doubled. Which would make Sarah 45 when Isaac was born. Old, but not impossibly so.

We take tose dates and ages as tradition.

The scripture uses the word eretz..which means "land"... not earth.

Genesis refers to the world being spherical in nature when stating there is a "firmament/vault" that separated the waters. The firmament itself is a "half sphere" - not flat or squared.

This doesn't mean that Genesis was stating that the Earth is flat - it was showing that the Earth is spherical (or at least round) in nature.

People at the time would not have been able to grasp the concepts of gravity etc and living on a sphere that only appears flat to them - so the story is written so that even a child can understand it. But the clues for the generations that would come later are there.
