Actually, he has no such standing in civil court. Just ask OJ. OJ was found in a criminal court that he didn't do it, but a civil court found he did.

The legal standard in a criminal court is "guilty beyond a reasonable doubt". I don't think there actual was one in the Rittenhouse case, but the jury never got to hear him say how he wanted to shoot black people.

The legal in a civil case is "Preponderance of the evidence".
