GOA, SAF, and state pro-gun .orgs like the VCDL here in Virginia is where the rubber meets the road now as far as pro-gun legislation goes. The NRA actually hinders their efforts and tries to take credit for their wins.

The fuckin' NRA has had full time lobbyists getting paid six-figures in IL, NY, CA, for decades with nothing to show for it.

No. I am for proper required training and regulation of people on the streets with loaded weapons. I had a neighbor backing me up once, going across the street to a house supposedly empty, but my neighbor called seeing a flashlight moving around. I led, with my weapon and flashlight, he with his automatic. I became aware, when I moved the flashlight his weapon cross my body following the light, his weapon not even on safe. I was loud enough, whoever was there, exited through the woods in back, I did not follow. When we went back, he handed me his weapon, still on fire, asking me to clear it for him, as he didn't trust himself. I place weapon on safe, dropped the magazine, ejected the round in the chamber, leaving the slide locked to rear, inspect the chamber and handed it back. He said thanks, inserted the magazine, and release the slide release, allowing the weapon to chamber another round. Give me a fking break. Some people have no business with weapons without training. It is as simple as that, and they certainly have no business carrying off their own property in the pocket of their pants. You are talking to the wrong guy. I have trained far too many people, running far too many ranges of every sort and all conditions, with varied personnel, for way too many years to pay you any heed. I used to be a professional. Now, I just conduct myself professionally, wishing all others would.

Bull. I am for universal background checks on all weapons purchase and sale outside of family pass down. They are not. I am for all long guns prohibited from city streets, everywhere, every city and state. I support concealed carry permit, after background check (local agency, state and Federal (Dept of Homeland defense), with an approved 1 day required training (including safety, applicable laws, rules of engagement, shoot/no shoot and testing, including range qualification live fire, and a state issued permit. They do not, as they support carry without permit, both pistols or long guns for any that want to, like the old west. Those are big reasons for me NOT to support the NRA.
That is just me. Give them your money if you want, but I'll pass.

I just have to point out that, the old west was not the way you have implied. In the "old west" guns were often forbidden in cities. You were required to turn you guns into the sheriff upon entry into the city and you could pick them back up when you went out. That is precisely what the shootout at OK Corral was all about.

I mean the founders never intended for stupid shits with no training whatsoever to be able to tote around AR-15s. They are rolling in their grave. A gun is a tool, and should be treated with respect. When any dumbshit with no firearm experience can waltz into a gunshop and buy an AR-15, WE HAVE A PROBLEM. I will put it to you straight, any one of the gunnuts on this website want to try and outshoot me, bring it on. Dad went to get his concealed weapons permit, had to shoot to qualify. When he got done the instructor told him he scored higher than any law enforcement officer in the county, and he wouldn't dare attempt to shoot against me.
