This plan is just the latest from the undereducated. It is one of those things that sounds like a great idea just as traveling between galaxies sounds great. But no real way to implement it.

First off we are talking a price tag of possibly 40 to 50 Trillion or more. People were ready to hang others over 5.7 billion. Democrats were up in arms over Trump adding 1 Trillion to the debt.

Just to replace energy production with green would require an area the size of California covered in wind turbines and solar panels. Add in electric trains and all other travel to be electric would at least double that area. Then get used to brown outs or black outs. Since sun and wind are not reliable.

Train travel instead of planes. Permitting issues and even environmental issues that would hold back or isolate areas. Get used to longer travel. Since you would have stops at each town along a route. If you could have fast trains it would be certain destinations only. Then you have to consider death of wildlife, children, pets on tracks.

The cost and time needed to retrofit buildings would be a major cost and much longer then ten years.

Will not even go into the economic aspects like guaranteed income, jobs,etc.

The only thing this will do is show how many do not understand simple economics and logistics and are willing to jump on any bandwagon without conscious thought.
