Obama Admits Administration Failure: Says Overestimated Iraq Army, Underestimated I S I S

Obama's trying to hang ISIS missteps on the intelligence community, but the IC warned Obama about ISIS a year ago.

Now he's on 60 Minutes admitting his Administration's failure.....after all, Director Clapper is part of HIS Administration..... about a number of missteps including underestimating ISIS and overestimating the Iraqi Army.

But the IC isn't going to put up with allowing Obama to hang that lie around their necks. It was his stupidity, not theirs.

Eye Opener: President Obama admits he underestimated ISIS
He should have known that any army trained by Bush would cut and run.

Why don't you explain to the classroom how ISIS became so well armed and financed that they could invade Iraq lickety split from Syria?
Everyone but the No-Information Right knows that Bush's best buddies, the House of Saud, are behind ISIL!!!!!

Thank God for the Saudis ISIS Iraq and the Lessons of Blowback - The Atlantic

The Free Syrian Army (FSA), the “moderate” armed opposition in the country, receives a lot of attention. But two of the most successful factions fighting Assad’s forces are Islamist extremist groups: Jabhat al-Nusra and the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the latter of which is now amassing territory in Iraq and threatening to further destabilize the entire region. And that success is in part due to the support they have received from two Persian Gulf countries: Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Qatar’s military and economic largesse has made its way to Jabhat al-Nusra, to the point that a senior Qatari official told me he can identify al-Nusra commanders by the blocks they control in various Syrian cities. But ISIS is another matter. As one senior Qatari official stated, “ISIS has been a Saudi project.”

ISIS, in fact, may have been a major part of Bandar’s covert-ops strategy in Syria.

Obama has been President for almost 6 years so blaming Bush doesn't work any more.

Then blaming Bull Connor and Harry Byrd does not either. Sorry, kid, can't have it both ways.

When did I do that?

OP_ So did everyone else. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Booosh regulators looked the other way while their pals in financial institutions cheated EVERYONE. RW idiocy.

Carter has not been president for more than 25 years, but that didn't stop the Right from blaming Bush's housing crash on Carter and Clinton. Bush owns everything that goes wrong for the next 19 years.

Carter and Clinton share the blame for signing the bills that created the housing bubble. Bush deserves criticism for being unable or unwilling to reverse those bills.

Facts don't lie!

It goes further back than Clinton and Carter, the failure of the economy were polices and spending habits that go way back into the 40's. No, President or Congress wanted to tackle the issues until it they finally ran their course.

Obama being a dumbfuck is too stupid to realize most people know he ignored the military and CIA warnings about leaving Iraq too soon, but he thinks he can blame them for his mistakes.

Only the shit-eaters like we see on this board believe his lies and finger-pointing.

Did Limbaugh or Hannity tell you President Obama ignored the military and CIA? Maybe you ought to widen your source(s) of information, since no one but the President and those closest to him know what influenced his decision to bug out of Iraq. It might have been something so simple as reading the daily causualty reports, the failure of the Iraqi Government and their unwillingness to guarantee immunity to our military personnel.

True, facts don't lie: "The National Home Ownership Foundation was established in 1968 under the Housing Act. The National Home Ownership Foundation was intended to encourage both private and public organizations to provide opportunities for home ownership for low-income families in urban and rural communities"

Guess who was president when this was established? It wasn't Clinton, It wasn't Carter --- drum roll please --- it was Richard Nixon.

Those laws allowed worthy minorities to buy homes. Boosh regulators allowed financial institutions to sell to the unemployed ferchrissake, chumps. And Fanny and Freddy's share of the market went from 75% to 25% in 2002-3. You are brainwashed functional morons.

OP- Not news, just manufactured spin on "nobody saw it coming"...

overestimating the Iraqi Army.
Really? After 12 years of training and supplying the Iraqi Army, the US over estimated Iraqi Army?
Were our trainers blind? Absolutely no excuse for this oversight

The C.I.A. officers have been in southern Turkey for several weeks, in part to help keep weapons out of the hands of fighters allied with Al Qaeda or other terrorist groups, one senior American official said. The Obama administration has said it is not providing arms to the rebels, but it has also acknowledged that Syria’s neighbors would do so.

You need to read your own links!

As my link showed, Prince Bandar, not Obama and not the CIA, was arming and funding ISIL at McCain's urging. Prince Bandar and Bush are considered brothers in the House of Saud, in fact they call hin "Bandar Bush."

The Saudis own ISIL and Boko Haram and Bush owns the Saudis.

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/23/o...-with-saudi-support-for-salafi-hate.html?_r=0

Let’s be clear: Al Qaeda, the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, Boko Haram, the Shabab and others are all violent Sunni Salafi groupings. For five decades, Saudi Arabia has been the official sponsor of Sunni Salafism across the globe.

I've studied every link I have put up. I have multiple links that show quite clearly that the CIA was working in tandem with Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey. The main players funding and providing military equipment to the paid mercenaries in Syria.

Obama's CIA was also involved in the organization of training of the paid mercenaries errrr rebels.

By the way, I have never claimed once that we armed ISIS. What I have stated numerous times is that by allowing the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood to smuggle the weapons and funds to the "rebels" a disaster was sure to follow.

It's all out there. And no one on this planet owns the Saudi's. On the other hand they own more than a few heads of state.

I would tell you to read the almost 2000 posts I did on the subject based on all my time there and my experiences negotiating with Iraqis but that would constitute being too much of a credible source for people like you, so instead I'll just point out how extremely gullible you are.

You would think Republicans would be so embarrassed that after spending trillions and years on a new Iraqi Army, and have it run off at the first sign of danger. And what was that danger? Saddam's old military.

I recall that you people wouldn't allow us to blame Bush for the disaster of Iraq, no WMD's etc., because you claimed it was an intelligence failure that Bush cannot be held accountable for.

Can we apply this argument to Obama?

Are you saying you want it both ways, or is it Obama's fault?

Or was is not Bush's fault?

Which one?

We can tell you libs till we're blind in the face but you won't get it. It was about their commanders abandoning them.

LOL, it's like trying to teach children that 2+2=4 over and over and over, isn't it....

Of course it is. It's fun watching you libs try to spin your way out of this mess. I DO enjoy watching it. LOL

Of course BHO is to blame: he is the president. And so is Bush, even more, for giving him such a fucked up situation. Only EconChick could have saved the Iraqi Army, but . . . there you go.

Obama's lies are off the wall crazy at this point. His apologists are probably becoming addicted to Immodium AD because he has them shitting themselves so badly with his fairy tales.

"'By February [2014] we had generals basically reading out their memos to Congress,' he added, referring to testimony from Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency.

Flynn predicted ISIS 'probably will attempt to take territory in Iraq and Syria to exhibit its strength in 2014.' The Islamist terror group had already seized Fallujah and Ramadi, he said, had the 'ability to concurrently maintain multiple safe havens in Syria.'

By the time Flynn spoke on Capitol Hill, Congress had already heard the story at least once before.

Assistant Secretary of State Brett McGurk told a House Foreign Affairs subcommittee in November 2013 that ISIS had been militarily active all year because of 'a permissive operating environment due to inherent weaknesses of Iraqi security forces, poor operational tactics, and popular grievances, which remain unaddressed.'"

'It has also benefited from a sanctuary across the porous border in Syria, control of lucrative facilities there, such as oil wells, and regular movement of weapons and fighters between Syria and Iraq,' McGurk said."

Obama has had accurate intelligence about ISIS since BEFORE the 2012 election says administration insider Daily Mail Online
