President Obama pledged $7 billion in funds from the electricity initiative, dubbed Power Africa, to be distributed over the next five years to six countries — Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria and Tanzania. President Obama said the U.S. wants to help Africa without interfering, as colonial powers did in the past.

"Don’t just assume that folks come here and they’re automatically benefiting Africans. And that includes the United States. Ask questions in terms of what we do."

Huh? For electric power companies? Will he try to give them green power, too, or will he keep his hands off THEIR decision to do what's best for the most like he SHOULD HAVE over here?

The Global Electricity Initiative was established by the participating utilities from around the world to showcase climate change actions during the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties 17 / Meeting of the Parties (COP 17 / CMP 7) event on 28 November to 9 December 2011. The premise of this initiative is that clean electricity is a fundamental solution to the challenge of climate change.

Obama interfered with drilling the minute he barred American oil companies from drilling in the Gulf of Mexico in 2009 and before a year was up, guess who--you got it--3 communist countries, Cuba, China, and Russia were drilling there without so much as a whimper from Obama. Obama forked over American drilling to foreign entities who had no business taking over our waters.


And instead of badmouthing the USA like he did in the EU, he's just telling AFrica to NEVER TRUST THE USA AFTER I LEAVE OFFICE!!!!!

What he said was in the past nations have gone to Africa with so called good intentions only to exploit and abuse their actions. To include the US. Again you would be wrong to think that everything the US does is good for the people of other nations or the corporations that operate over seas.
He was also using the reference to the colonialism and mercantilism by nations and companies that pillage other nations to the benefit of the parent company or government.
