Obama has an epiphany. Finally admits we are at war.

God, I wish more people believed this. I'm no prude, but sometimes I think that some come to these forums so that they can anonymously be the bad boys and girls that they don't dare to be in real life. Or they are honestly don't know anything and they try to cover it up with the most shocking language they can think of, ad hominem, and personal insults.

I suppose they honestly don't see how clueless and ignorant that can make them look.

If you are suggesting that people, like me, who have no problem resorting to ad hominem invective on an internet political message board wouldn't "behave" or "speak" like that in their everday real world lives, you are (imho) 100% correct.

On the other hand, when engaged in a political discussion in the real world, I am not confronted by so many jerkoffs who initiate that childish behavior with lots of ad hominem invective of their own.

So, I suspect it balances out.

Maybe it does balance out, and I'll think about it.

But I really hate to see smart people with a clue sink to the level of numbnuts and intentional jerks. For one thing it makes all those engaging in that look like numbnuts and jerks to the casual observer. For another it too often sends a perfectly good thread to the Flame Zone where it won't receive much respect. And finally it is boring as all get out and puts off intelligent people from joining in.

Fair points one and all.

I shall give it some contemplation.

Get off your flippin' high horses. The best debates are where people can flame each other but still remain focused on the topic. There are some over sensitive piss ant panzies whining about flaming but all they are saying is:

"This is perfect! I can stop debating the issue and cry about ad homs! That way I don't have to fully reveal my ignorance and I get to look like I'm taking the high road!"

Exactly. You see the problem. Every time one runs into a dope like that, one has to ponder "should I ignore this donkey, this time?"

Anyway, I respect your brevity in that last post.

11 months and 3 terrorist attacks into his Presidency he now realizes we are at war.
“We are at war,” Mr. Obama said in remarks from the White House State Dining Room.
There now Mr. President...that wasn't so painful now was it?
“We must follow the leads that we get and we must pursue them until plots are disrupted,” Mr. Obama said. “We can’t sit on information to protect the American people.”
Oh...so that's what's been happening the last 11 months. Really!!!?

and finally the one thing Obama needed to say back in January when he assumed the Office of the Presidency and the RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WAR ON TERRORISM.
“The buck stops with me.”

Yes it does. I guarantee you if there's another terrorist attack your Administration is definately out the door in 2012.

Watch boy, hush.

Everything's alright. We have our forces where we need them.. in Yemen. Al Qaeda is on the run, these three attacks you speak of is all about Al Qaeda trying to put your extreme right back into power so that you and your "waterboarders" can escalate the war by killing and torturing more innocent muslim civilians.

The average recruit for Al Qaeda is a young man who was orphaned because his family became "collateral damage" as the result of reckless US military actions.

Obama is doing a great job; the Obama administration has reported fewer muslim civilian casualties than the Bush administration, after setting a record number of drone attacks.

Can't you recognize desperation when you see it? Al Qaeda is desperate; that's why they're running like hell to Yemen; it's their last safe haven.

Food for thought.

If you like to flame fine. I understand that the rules of this message board permit that, though I believe those rules did mention that those who do it a lot will probably be perceived as idiots. When that is what you mostly do, please accept that some of us find that tedious, not at all interesting, very boring, and offensive when it sidetracks what could otherwise be a good discussion. Thank you for understanding.

:lol::lol: I wonder if Obama now goes on another world-wide tour to take back the apologies that he made on his world wide apology tour--:lol::lol: Did he just figure out that all those speeches didn't work with Islamic extremists? Or maybe his speeches just don't sound that good in Arabic or any other middle eastern language?

I believe many Americans who voted for Obama--"especially liberals" just thought terrorists would lay down their weapons & we would all gather around this new world leader--simply because he wasn't G.W. Bush--:cuckoo::cuckoo:

Is there a way to convert self righteousness into energy? If so you could probably juice Texas, New York, and California all by yourself. Most of your posts in this thread are nothing but whining. You got something to say related to the discussion or is penny pontificating all you got?

Typical nationalistic bullshit. This is exactly why America will fall. Instead even a remote attempt at being honest too many want to blame Islam without looking in their own backyard. As long as we run secret prisons and occupying nations that have never attacked us then guess what? There's a damn good chance we will be attacked. But insecure frail Americans will continue to play the victim because being honest is way too expensive.

Thanks, cmike, finally, for a good question? The President never should have pulled troops from Afghanistan until the US finished the job there: destroy Al Quada and the Taliban, chase and catch or kill Zawahiri or bin Ladin/ and rebuild a peacful country.

But, no, bright eyes had a hard on for SH so he ups and invades Iraq, where we won the fighting and have almost lost the peace.

This is why Americans, from conservatives to liberals, despise the GOP, rightfully until we change our image, drop the neo-cons and the Tea Baggers and associated loonies, and come up with a solid conservative plan for America.

America first!

Actually conservatives support the the war against terrorism, on both fronts, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Iraq has been as equally important as Afghanistan. In both countries, america has killed or captured many Al Qaida leaders, and Al Qaida soldiers.

As I demontrated, troop levels in Afghanistan have increased under Pres. Bush. There was a surge that was workign quite well in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

In Afghanistan, Al Qaida militants became more and more desperate.

What needs to be done is america need to go wherever these terrorists are hiding and have sanction. If that means Yemen next so be it.

If Iran and Syria are helping them, there are things the US can do sort of a full scale invasion to give them a message, such as a 2,000 pound bomb on their ministry of defense building.

Liberals are against the war in Iraq, simply because Pres. Bush was for it.

I recall before the invasion of Afghanistan the liberals shouting how we should never do it. How the Soviet Union never succeede in Afghanistan and how America can't either. How there will be over 100,000 american soliders dead because of it. It's kind of funny that this is the one place that they say that they are interested in.

Thank you Jake for the civil discussion.

Once again you prove you don't know what you're talking about.

Charley Reese said ".... U.S. attack on Iraq: "is a prescription for the decline and fall of the American empire. Overextension – urged on by a bunch of rabid intellectuals who wouldn't know one end of a gun from another – has doomed many an empire. Just let the United States try to occupy the Middle East, which will be the practical result of a war against Iraq, and Americans will be bled dry by the costs in both blood and treasure."

Paul Craig Roberts said "...."an invasion of Iraq is likely the most thoughtless action in modern history."

James Webb said "... "The issue before us is not whether the United States should end the regime of Saddam Hussein, but whether we as a nation are prepared to occupy territory in the Middle East for the next 30 to 50 years."
Conservatives Against a War with Iraq, by Rep. John J. Duncan

I don't think you have the first clue about real Republicans. You probably actually believe shitheads like Cheney Rumsfeld Counter Oreilly Hannity etc, represent Republicans and I'm sure you don't have the first fucking clue about what has been happening in my Party.

Some more info:

Make no mistake: author Gold, a former speechwriter for George H.W. Bush and aide to Barry Goldwater, is one disgusted Republican. The GOP of the 2006 midterm election, he writes, is "a party of pork-barrel ear-markers like Dennis Hastert, of political hatchet men like Karl Rove, and of Bible-thumping hypocrites like Tom Delay." Gold looks to Goldwater, "a straight-talking, freethinking maverick," as the yardstick by which to measure just how far the party of Lincoln has fallen. He traces the beginning of the end to the 1980 Republican National Convention and the presence of "a militant new element...personified by Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell." The other half of the equation, the neoconservatives, are embodied by Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, "two cuts from the same Machiavellian cloth."

Your ignorance is astounding.

This is a good example of how CMike, PP, liability, etc.....skip over posts they are not capable of responding to. Instead they whine about insignificant shit. They claim to be informed but even on rudimentary elements they know they fail to grasp the slightest tinges.
