Obama throws Bush under the bus......accuses him of torture

Is that all you got?

Obama's mother was a porn star. How far do you want to go?

More right wing sickening lies. Republicans passed out a million DVD's making that claim. What a sickening bunch of racist psychopaths. Yet, they still insist they are the party of God. Makes you wonder what kind of a God they believe in.

What else would you expect?

The party that endorses torture would also claim the Presidents mother is a whore

Ipse dixit fallacy! Rabbi Rules!
When have you ever believed anything John McCain said? Oh yeah, when it agreed with you.

Is there any American who understands torture better than John McCain?

Yes. Why do you think McCain understands torture? Because he was tortured himself? That is the personal fallacy. McCain would be the last person you'd ask about torture.
Again, Rabbi Rules!

And conservatives would rather trust the "expertise" of Sean Hannity that waterboarding is just a little water up your nose.
The same Sean Hannity who ran away from his offer to be waterboarded

I would trust the opinion of a John McCain any day. He understands the physical and psychological impacts of torture while conservative chickenhawks giggle about "a little water"

OK so you're easily swayed. We get that.
Hey, if McCain had said that waterboarding was NOT torture, would you believe him?

I dont think strawman means what you think it means.

Where are the indictments?

amen!!!!!!!!

Hmmmm....

So torturing one who admits to being part of a conspiracy to kill as many innocent Americans as possible in an effort to prevent attacks is NOT American....

but......

intentionally killing an American citizen for alleged crimes without due process IS American.

Interesting.

Not really - false equivalency is not that interesting. A whole lot of folks who can't argue the issue use it.

It's pretty boring actually.

Actually, calling it a false equivalency without explaining how it is a false equivalency is something people do who cant argue the issue.

It is not a false equivalency..

A country that intentionally kills American citizens for alleged crimes without due process should, without doubt, use torture against NON American citizens who are hell bent on killing American Citizens in an attempt to protect the lives of those citizens.

Please explain how it is a false equivalency.

I've never heard about this but it doesnt surprise me at all.

putting the blame game aside (Bu$h II- speak) torture doesn't work.

Sorry, Dick Cheney: Torture doesn't work - The Week
You might be wondering: How was I so prescient? In fact, I deserve no credit: that torture during the Bush era yielded no valuable intelligence was completely obvious from the beginning, despite what Dick Cheney might have you believe. All you had to do was pay attention to people who have studied torture carefully. Darius Rejali, a professor at Reed College, did just that in his masterpiece Torture and Democracy (see here and here). Rejali found that torture is good for two things: intimidation and extracting false confessions. As an intelligence-gathering mechanism, it's much worse than worthless. You get no good intelligence, while what you do get is decidedly bad, including a corrosion of the legitimacy of security agencies and a weakening of the foundation of liberal democracy itself.

Micah Zenko makes a good point that the major issue when it comes to torture is that it is blatantly illegal, immoral, and unethical. He's right that the rule of law — not to mention basic decency — ought to land every torturer in federal prison.

You understand that there are other articles that show that the interrogation that was done produced actionable intelligence, right? Your article only speaks in general terms based on general research.
That makes it a fail.

There are no indictments. Now tell us whats the point of that question.

Which is it. Obama's lying about Bush's crime, or Obama's refusing to do his duty as POTUS in directing the AG to prosecute Bush for his crime.

Bush was given a "Get out of Jail Free" card by Obama

Obama did not want to start his administration with trials digging up the horrific actions of the Bush administration.

Republicans are now trying to use that as a justification for their torture

Wait. Are you saying Obama already forgave Bush his crimes? Ok then that equates to Obama refused to do his duty as POTUS in directing the AG to prosecute Bush for his crime.

Then what's this new issue about? Is Obama taking the get out of jail free card back? Does he have new damning evidence? What changed?

Thats our Repub-voting brethren here. This is, in part, why they can't win national elections anymore :)

Obama will not serve in judgement of George Bush.........he will allow history to do that

Which repub voting bretheren are you accusing of torturing prisoners? Who's justifying torture? Huh? Obama again accuses Bush of something he already forgave Bush many years ago for, and that is proof of current justification of torture that Obama ordering republicans to do? HUH?

Is Obama the POTUS or not? What recent torture did Bush order? WTF are you guys smoking?
