I do think this event has been misplayed.
What I am learning is that the Crimea is an autonomous region that is home to mostly ethnic Russians. The new Kiev regime was tossing around the idea of revoking Crimea's autonomy. AND the Russians have a treaty with with Ukraine that allows them 25,000 troops in Crimea. Right now I think they are somewhere near 15,000.

This doesn't look to me like the "naked aggression invasion" that it was made out to be. Dumb move - because you gin up a lot of animosity over the "invasion" and then you do nothing because there is really nothing for you to do.

Yeah, the left has always been ready to parrot Moscow's line. All those African countries really wanted to be communist and the Soviets were merely helping.
