I read this article today. Rich Lowry discussed it and stated why no republican can ever trust Obama to do the right thing. He would use the money to enhance open borders.

So like most problems, it is a scandal until the cost to fix it is mentioned, and then the second thoughts kick in. The problem goes far back in our history, and there may be a reason that mythical fence has never been built. The nation was built on immigration, and both parties over the years pretty much cast a blind eye to the problem, each profiting from cheap labor, new buyers for our products and potential Democratic voters. At least potential Democratic voters until a few former immigrants made big bucks, became Republicans, and demanded cheap labor.
