Our tax dollars shouldn't be used to babysit the freeloaders in the US either.

Having one's basic healthcare needs met isn't "freeloading". And if you were a sharp economist, you would've figured out long ago. You'd know how to increase profits in your republican company by making sure your workers' burden of paying out the equivalent of a second mortgage in premiums and deductables was freed up to buy more of your products. You'd see less sick days which are expensive....more profits still...You'd see no requirement for workman's comp...more money still. You'd see more employees working harder because they were no longer afraid of getting sick or injured (what job is worth that if it will bankrupt your family?).

You'd see a increase in the GDP which would then create more jobs still while your profits kept inching up up up. And all of it could be paid for not out of your pocket, but thanks to Article 1, Section 8, a tax on the nation's biggest killers: tobacco, booze and heavily sugared treats and junk food would foot the largest part of the pool, with small copays at each visit to discourage hypochondriacs and to pay just actual costs of running clinics.

AND, the more wealthy could still have their private premium health insurance coverages as they please.

All this is actually a republican benefit, since that party worships hoarding wealth. Individual wealth of business owners would increase. But they only resist this plan of action because of H-E-A-V-Y lobbying on behalf of the pharmaceutical companies and BigHealthInsurance.

The law is flawed, non sustainable, and built on accounting legerdemain that would, as planned, only survive with massive government subsidies, and increased taxes. At some point there has to be financial accountability demonstrated by the government for at some point the house of cards will implode. No one has an argument against basic health care services, however, this must come from an open free market source, not government, which out of competition drive coverage prices down. Pools created to address high risk preexisting conditions needs to be addressed, and can be, however this law as it is written shifts the burden onto young and healthy subscribers with ever increasing deductibles and double digit annual premium increases.
