Oklahoma cons ban living wage

New Oklahoma state law bans all cities and towns from raising the minimum wage. The republican war on workers continues. They won't quit until everyone gets paid $2.13 an hour.

Oklahoma bans local minimum wage increases - Apr. 15, 2014

If they wanted to lower minimum wage, they would have tried to. But they didn't now did they? Businesses deserve protection from these frequent raises in the minimum wage, too. You liberals won't stop until the minimum wage is so high, nary a business would be able to hire many workers at all.

The liberal war on jobs continues.

The minimum wage should be a living wage and it should be indexed for inflation.

and you create a perpetuating cycle of inflation and wage increases because you are paying for work above its actual value.

Jut get the lie out there, that's all they care about.

Don't worry, as soon as we PROVE that they're lying scum, they'll have another lie up and running.

whack-a-dim

I'm starting to believe that these folks are mentally ill.. the way they exist in a perpetual state of hyper-excitement over stuff that isn't even really happening. Its scary.

She's made it so cities can't raise their minimum wage unless the state raises its. She's also against raising the federal minimum wage. Face it, this is just another attack on the low wage workers which will lead to an even bigger income gap. This is not good for our country, I doubt it's even good for Oklahoma.

No once again you have failed to comprehend what was written previously, in that due legislation on a national level was deemed harmful to our economy and a foolish idea railroaded by the left. In due process and legislation the minimum wage increase was defeated on a national level. The left is simply trying to do an end run around, but you fucking morons are so stupid you telegraph your moves, thus us responsible ones enact laws to stop your evil plans before your moronic asses can put them into action. Check and mate bitches ...

No, this is a violation of the law (Article I, section 10). If an employer and employee agree on $7. 35 an hour, the government has no right to interfere and change the contract.

Likewise, it had no right to interfere when it enacted the minimum wage law to begin with.

The Government should Rule and Regulate all things, the Government dictates, we obey, it is that simple.

If the government rules and regulates that houses will cost $100k minimum so that the tax base is kept extremely high, then the government has the responsibility to mandate the wage to pay for that house.

When the Government rules and regulates a new extremely expensive heavy industry such as Green/Renewable Energy, it is perfectly okay to use the power of government to force corporation to pay people more to pay for the extreme prices this new industry created by the government demands.

If business ends, as it should, the government will provide us with blocks of cheese and bags of rice, which will save the environment and the world.

All hail the Dictator of the World, your life is now Liberal/Socialist/Democrat

Yep, the right tries to divide in order to conquer.

As more states join Connecticut and Maryland, desperate people will pick up and move. We saw that happen during the Reagan regime and other tough times, and we'll see it again.

It still astounds me that some rw's vote for the candidates who promise to make them poor and take away any hope of ever improving their lot.

Only the rich, bigots and the ignorant vote republican.

:cuckoo:
Thanks for the confirmation, ignorant.

I bet you loved it when Shrub was the world dictator.

It's Okiehoma, first they went from a prevailing wage state to a right to work state, now they want you to work for less so the rich can make sure they have plenty to put in the bank to help amass their fortunes...Repubs believe in capitalism, but with limitations on the workers...anyone in the legislature that votes on this and owns a business is guilty of conflicts of interest and should not be allowed to vote.
No they don't. Dishonesty at its worst.

No one is forcing anyone to remain in a minimum wage job. So, your position is not only wrong, but a bit whiny....

I hope my state is next to ban a living wage. More people here need to die.

And there you have it folks, the ideology of the cons....and they think they can win in November with this. BWAH HA HA HA HA!

This is nobody's business but oklahoma's.

Don't pay any attention to the cons in Oklahoma, that way the cons in your red state can fuck you too.

Kosh-And the far left continues to show they only can speak from programmed talking points and not on facts or reality.

One con exposes the true ideology of the right wingers, and this one tries to get people to believe it's not real. Right wing scum can't be hidden after it's in plain view.

Here's a clue...banning all raises in minimum wage IS forcing people to live in poverty. But you know that. You're just trying to protect your greed. Funny, how the greedy think they are immune to Karma.

They're not banning increasing wages, they're saying government can't dictate wages. Do you understand that those are different?

Tell me this much, if someone wants to work for less than the minimum wage, why shouldn't they be allowed to?

Actually, I believe what they're saying is, any increase in the minimum wage will come from the state level, not the county or municipal levels. This makes the "playing field" even statewide rather than having two different minimum wages in say Tulsa and Enid...

Tell me this much, if someone wants to work for less than the minimum wage, why shouldn't they be allowed to?

The absurdity of someone...WANTING... to work for less than the minimum wage is as stupid as the con ideology.

Don't dodge. Answer the question. If someone can't find a job making minimum wage, why would it be wrong for them to work for less, if they want to? Could they volunteer, and work for nothing? If so, then why couldn't they work for something between nothing and the minimum wage? Why does that need to be illegal? How do we even justify making it illegal?

No, it is not liar. It is forcing YOU to live in poverty because you are too fucking stupid to advance beyond pushing a broom.

Everyone else, not so much.

People can't make ends meet with the wages they're paid now. Just look at that Wal-Mart in Ohio, holding a food drive for its own employees. What you're suggesting is that a person has a right to slap himself in the face, and no one's saying he doesn't. What minimum wage does is protect workers from employers who would order then to slap themselves in the face.
