Opposite-sex cohabitation illegal in 4 states

"Today four states (Mississippi, Virginia, Florida, and Michigan) have laws on their books against cohabitation by opposite-sex couple"

Cohabitation in the United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

isn't it strange that libs and gays are not fighting this? Seems there are double standards when it comes to civil rights fos non-minorities

Has it occurred to you that maybe a good many libs and gays aren't even aware that these laws still exist in this day and age?

Doesn't seem to be much a of a problem regardless.

Your link states that these laws pertain to OPPOSITE-sex couples.

Why did you make this into a liberal/gay issue, when the laws in those four states refer only to opposite-sex cohabitation?

Do those four states allow cohabitation by same-sex couples?

If so, then you have a case of discrimination.

If not, then you just made a fool of yourself.

Who exactly has been discriminated against using this law? Name a couple we can fight for.

If it actually becomes a problem, there will be plenty of right- and leftwingers organizing, methinks.

In the meantime, though, feel to keep trolling for some kind of outrage we have no reason to feel.

:D

Why should anyone fight these laws when they are rarely enforced. In your link, it says many legal scholars feel these laws are unconstitutional. If anyone wants to spend the money, they can probably get them repealed or declared unconstitutional.

The states are loaded with silly unconstitutionally laws that have never been repealed but are rarely enforced so they remain on the books.

Squeeze berry...you know to fight a law, you have to have a test case, right? Pretty basic legal stuff there. Bring us a test case.

LOL, really? You must be a comedienne or something. Those are little known laws, when was the last time someone was prosecuted for it?

The legislature is already going to repeal it here in Virginia.

No.

As no one has been adversely effected by these laws.

When an opposite-sex couple is charged and prosecuted, get back to us.

Anyone ever think that some laws should be repealed or erased?

I mean.....................we don't drive buggys with horses anymore. I'm pretty sure that there are some laws that could stand to be erased.
