Not necessarily so. Since electric types will require a sizable generator, which, most likely will be powered by a gas or diesel powerplant itself. Portable fuel powered units take up less space and electric models need a lot of AC power to run a compressor.
If the passengers were sleeping, I agree that a compressor wasn't being used due to noise, but, a generator? Maybe.
