Paul Manafort indicted in New York moments after second sentencing – Whee!

NY's Political Prosecution Of Manafort Should Scare Us All

NY's political prosecution of Manafort should scare us all | TheHill
03/14/2019 ~~ By Andrew C. McCarthy ~~ The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has indicted Paul Manafort for mortgage fraud and more than a dozen other state felonies. This is a nakedly political prosecution. Democrats, who run the Empire State, are apoplectic that President Trump could pardon his former campaign manager, who has been sentenced to 90 months in prison in the Mueller probe.
Well, as the New York Times notes, the New York state charges filed Wednesday are based on bank loans that were part of the fraud charges brought by Robert Mueller in the Virginia case. The Times says that “the Manhattan prosecutors deferred their inquiry in order not to interfere with Mr. Mueller’s larger investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.” Having been in these tussles, I don’t buy that. The Manhattan prosecutors stood down because, once Mueller’s federal case went forward, they were out of luck... And now, gamesmanship is the order of the day: The state prosecutors have brought a case they otherwise never would waste time on — not because the case should be done, but to try to block a pardon.... If Trump were to pardon Manafort, that would vitiate the federal prosecution. The point of the pardon is to excuse the offense as if it never happened. So, the idea is that if Manafort’s federal prosecution were to be voided, there would be no state double jeopardy bar against a subsequent New York State prosecution.
No one, however, should be singled out for prosecution because of his political associations.
The New York district attorney did not indict Manafort because he committed mortgage fraud. The DA indicted Manafort because he worked on the Trump campaign and could be pardoned during Trump’s presidency. That’s disgraceful.

Manafort is a political prisoner. Pure and simple. Next up. Re-education/Concentration camps to house all these “Enemies of the Marxist Socialist Democrats”.
Let's face it, if Manafort had rolled on Trump, he would not be where he is.
Rosenstein had already looked at his case years ago and dropped it. Years later Mueller and his Leftist cadre resurrected it to squeeze him, but he either had nothing to give or wasn’t willing to give it, so away he goes.
On the other hand, Cohen, as much as he is the sleaze he is, is in the same position. He was battered and squeezed, and presumably if he had something, anything, he would have used it to save himself. But Trump’s own feckless and faithless lawyer, the one who taped Trump without his knowing... had nothing to give. So off to prison he goes.
You’d imagine that a guy with complicated personal and business dealings has got to have some dirty dealings in his past, and clearly that’s what Mueller assumed, they figured surely if we dig deep enough we’ll find something. But Trump is evidently a pretty straight arrow. Much straighter than even his supporters might have imagined.
As McCarthy suggests, commutation will leave the convictions intact and preclude the state of New York proceeding.
As a resident of New York State, the City of New York and it's five boroughs has become a garbage pile and rats nest of communists and will never recover as a worthwhile City State. It is so trashed that it will crumble under its own weight. In essence they are trying to be a Country by pulling away from America. They join California is being the most disliked State in the Union. Both California and New York State have discussed seceding from the U.S.A., I say fine let them leave.
NY is teeing him up NOT because he has political connections but because the Political Connection has repeatedly hinted out wiping out his federal conviction because he didn't flip on him in the Mueller investigation. LOL He's being teed up because of threated political interference to cover Trump's business dealings and possible collusion.

That said he got a 24 million dollar fine/forfeiture. I'm not sure that left his wife and family much. I don't think he should ever sniff freedom, but it seems harsh to me to punish a family ... unless they're Trump or Gambinos (joke)

Since when is Paranoia over something that hasn't happened yet been a valid and legal excuse to violate someone's Civil Rights and subject them to Double Jeopardy?

I don't care how long Manafort goes to jail.

Everything he did, he did for The Podesta Group while working for Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama. If he had continued to work for Obama, Clinton and The Podesta Group, and if Clinton had gotten elected, he'd be one of Clinton's Cabinet Heads, right now, and no one would know who the fuck Strozk, Page, Baker, Ohr, McCabe and Mueller were.

~~~~~~
I agree. Meanwhile John and Tony Podesta walk free and easy. Double Standard if you're a Democrat versus Republican.
Well that's what you get when you work for Obama and Clinton and the entire executive board of your Podesta Group are Russian Nationals. You get Immunity, you walk free, and you get to blame all the money you got from The Ukraine on a guy named Manafort who never saw a penny of it.
Then because you have immunity, Manafort is not even allowed to call you to the stand, to show financial transactions from your Group that proves YOU were the one that got paid.
That's how we protect Crooked Presidents these days, and their "Heirs".
Imo Manafort was really convicted of not rolling over on Trump. It sucks. But then again Manafort represented politicians who didn't think twice about rape torture and murder. Of course Hillary Clinton took money from politicians who did pretty much that too.
I wasn't very happy with how little money Flynn was allowed to keep. He'll be ok with his military pension and family home, but still. He was a guy with a lot of skill set, and others who retire from the military get big bucks.
I'm not sure anyone knows how much, or little, Manafort has stashed in overseas accts. But the gummits gotten a lot better and tracking that down since 9-11.
No one, however, should be singled out for prosecution because of his political associations.
The New York district attorney did not indict Manafort because he committed mortgage fraud. The DA indicted Manafort because he worked on the Trump campaign and could be pardoned during Trump’s presidency. That’s disgraceful.
Manafort is a political prisoner. Pure and simple. Next up. Re-education/Concentration camps to house all these “Enemies of the Marxist Socialist Democrats”.
Let's face it, if Manafort had rolled on Trump, he would not be where he is.
Rosenstein had already looked at his case years ago and dropped it. Years later Mueller and his Leftist cadre resurrected it to squeeze him, but he either had nothing to give or wasn’t willing to give it, so away he goes.
On the other hand, Cohen, as much as he is the sleaze he is, is in the same position. He was battered and squeezed, and presumably if he had something, anything, he would have used it to save himself. But Trump’s own feckless and faithless lawyer, the one who taped Trump without his knowing... had nothing to give. So off to prison he goes.
You’d imagine that a guy with complicated personal and business dealings has got to have some dirty dealings in his past, and clearly that’s what Mueller assumed, they figured surely if we dig deep enough we’ll find something. But Trump is evidently a pretty straight arrow. Much straighter than even his supporters might have imagined.
As McCarthy suggests, commutation will leave the convictions intact and preclude the state of New York proceeding.
As a resident of New York State, the City of New York and it's five boroughs has become a garbage pile and rats nest of communists and will never recover as a worthwhile City State. It is so trashed that it will crumble under its own weight. In essence they are trying to be a Country by pulling away from America. They join California is being the most disliked State in the Union. Both California and New York State have discussed seceding from the U.S.A., I say fine let them leave.
NY is teeing him up NOT because he has political connections but because the Political Connection has repeatedly hinted out wiping out his federal conviction because he didn't flip on him in the Mueller investigation. LOL He's being teed up because of threated political interference to cover Trump's business dealings and possible collusion.
That said he got a 24 million dollar fine/forfeiture. I'm not sure that left his wife and family much. I don't think he should ever sniff freedom, but it seems harsh to me to punish a family ... unless they're Trump or Gambinos (joke)
so he is worse than Al Capone?
You know, if you were Hillary Clinton or one of here close friends and you Murdered someone, you might get just 90 DAYS IN JAIL.
In the US, what is the shortest sentence a person has served for first-degree murder?
NY's Political Prosecution Of Manafort Should Scare Us All
NY's political prosecution of Manafort should scare us all | TheHill
03/14/2019 ~~ By Andrew C. McCarthy ~~ The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has indicted Paul Manafort for mortgage fraud and more than a dozen other state felonies. This is a nakedly political prosecution. Democrats, who run the Empire State, are apoplectic that President Trump could pardon his former campaign manager, who has been sentenced to 90 months in prison in the Mueller probe.
Well, as the New York Times notes, the New York state charges filed Wednesday are based on bank loans that were part of the fraud charges brought by Robert Mueller in the Virginia case. The Times says that “the Manhattan prosecutors deferred their inquiry in order not to interfere with Mr. Mueller’s larger investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.” Having been in these tussles, I don’t buy that. The Manhattan prosecutors stood down because, once Mueller’s federal case went forward, they were out of luck... And now, gamesmanship is the order of the day: The state prosecutors have brought a case they otherwise never would waste time on — not because the case should be done, but to try to block a pardon.... If Trump were to pardon Manafort, that would vitiate the federal prosecution. The point of the pardon is to excuse the offense as if it never happened. So, the idea is that if Manafort’s federal prosecution were to be voided, there would be no state double jeopardy bar against a subsequent New York State prosecution.
How long ago did all this happen and why are they prosecuting now??
Looks pretty political to me as well.
If he's guilty then tough shit for him.
Imo Manafort was really convicted of not rolling over on Trump. It sucks. But then again Manafort represented politicians who didn't think twice about rape torture and murder. Of course Hillary Clinton took money from politicians who did pretty much that too.
I wasn't very happy with how little money Flynn was allowed to keep. He'll be ok with his military pension and family home, but still. He was a guy with a lot of skill set, and others who retire from the military get big bucks.
I'm not sure anyone knows how much, or little, Manafort has stashed in overseas accts. But the gummits gotten a lot better and tracking that down since 9-11.
THE FBI SPENT $40 Million and committed all sorts of Civil Rights Violations and Prosecutorial Misconduct trying to get SOMEONE, ANYONE to EVEN LIE ENOUGH ABOUT PRESIDENT TRUMP that they could find something to charge him with.
Not EVEN SLEEZE BALL COHEN would say there was Russian Collusion.
Did you ever think that there is just NOTHING to ROLL OVER on?
Just NO WAY the whole thing wasn't a hoax, wasn't a political witch hunt, that looks like quite a few political sycophants were involved in, AND THEY STILL COULDN'T MAKE IT HAPPEN.
The Bible says "The Wicked are Ensnared by their own lies."
25 Co-Conspirators in The FBI and DOJ have been fired, forced to resign, demoted and are under criminal investigation. Half of Mueller's Initial Team were fired and are under Criminal Investigation.
All because they just had to STOP TRUMP FROM BEING PRESIDENT!
What scares me is that America's largest city, NYC, is every bit the treasonous, massive obelisk of complete, bowel-hemmorhaged SHIT as my birth town of San Franshitsco. That sewer has been crawling on its belly for Islam since 9/11, they approved of the Ground Zero mosque, they reelected diBlasio and his extreme nanny-state fascism......if there's any anti-American city I hate as much as SF, it's got to be NYC.
Manafort gets 7 1/2 years for all his crimes. And others who do less get decades in jail. FFS!
White Collar crimes seem to pay well.
"BREAKING: Judge sentences former Trump campaign chairman Manafort to 60 months on first count, 30 months to run concurrent with Virginia case; judge imposes sentence of 13 months on Manafort for second count, to be served consecutively"
Manafort is a first time, non-violent offender. Do you really think a life sentence in solitary confinement is just?
Just because you hate Trump?
has nothing to do with trump. not one thread. the argument is truly hate filled because he knew trump. and that is all. these are evil people, I will never stop saying it either.
Ha dumb fuck, Manafort was Trump's campaign manager who gave polling data to the Russians to help get Trump elected, making this an illegal election. Manafort has everything to do with Trump.
so? What are his charges? anything related to his tasks as campaign manager? nope. so again, so?
Stop asking stupid questions.
Charges? We have facts. The Mueller investigation hasn't come out yet dumb ass. Giving polling data to Russians was one of his tasks. It's already been proven.
charges, I didn't stutter. so post the charges on Manafort big mouth.
You ask stupid questions. Take a hike.
Putting a law breaker like manafort behind bars is certainly no coup...he broke the law....he willingly broke the law. Some want him not to serve time? Explain. You can't
