Reasons Why I Love The Lord Jesus

Well, personally, I HATE him and his arrogant, self-serving **** of a father. Let's see what either of those mythical beings do about that. And if I'm wrong, if they both exist, let's see what petty revenge they exact on somebody who doesn't like either of them.

Petty, petulant, self-aggrandizing, autocratic *****.

He's unafraid brave very courageous. He makes heroic sacrifices to help others.
He's the kind of Person that will go straight into the pain to save you knowing that
nails are going to be driven into His hands and feet but He keeps on going anyway.
We humans love Unselfish Courageous Givers and that's who Jesus is. So I love
Him ~ and I like Him and want to be like Him too.

He hurts when His friends hurt. He feels their sorrows. He was moved to tears when
His friend Lazarus died and He saw Lazarus's sister Mary grieving crying heart-broken.
The Lord Jesus is soft-hearted, tender-hearted, warm-hearted and He feels sympathy.
He cares about people. He's not a self-seeker. He loves others more than He loves
Himself. "I came not to do my will. but the will of Him who sent me." No wonder the
Lord Jesus has over 2 billion followers worldwide. And these are just the ones we
know about.

He's an interesting Person because He's creative. Andromeda, Orion, Mount Everest,
and the Bahamas are a small sample of His creative work. He has a magnificent
imagination. He designed and created the men who designed and created the iphone.
He created beautiful flowers and butterflies. He designed blues, reds, and the
greens of summer and the entire color spectrum ~ quite beautiful it is too. And He's
lovable. To know Him is to love Him. And I do.

He can be as justifiably harsh and tough as He needs to be to defend Truth. To the
Pharisees: "You blind fools" you make your converts "twice as much a child of hell
as you are . . . You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned
to hell?" Remember He was speaking the truth to murderers in His first century "wicked
and adulterous generation" who had cold-blooded hate in their hearts. Later on they
wanted to murder the Lord Jesus. "So from that day on they plotted to take His life"
John 11:53. Jesus had raised Lazarus from the dead and Lazarus was the living
breathing empirical evidence that Jesus was who He said He was, "So the chief
priests made plans to kill Lazarus as well." John 12:10

The good news: The huge majority of humanity is not like those murderous Pharisees.
The human race, as a race, will be saved. The Apostle John: "I looked, and there before
me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people, and
language" praising God for their salvation. Rev. 7:9-12 So? So . . .

God has a plan to fix the world. It needs fixing 'cause men wrecked it with their Sin ~ Jesus
came to put it all back right and He is going to do exactly that. "I am making everything
new", said the Lord Jesus. There will come a time when "He will wipe every tear from their
eyes" and "the old order of things has passed away" and there'll "be no more death or
mourning or crying or pain." Rev. 21:4

Loving kindhearted Magnificent Courageous Savior, Thou hast conquered Satan, Sin,
and Death for us all. Hallelujah and thank You Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit for saving
the lost human race. We love You.

Jesus didnt create all those things....his father did......

I love Jesus. And in the book of John his role is described perfectly. He is the word of God, and he is alive in the hearts and souls of people who trust him.

Isaiah predicted his coming hundreds of years before his nativity and was so eloquent, Handel, a man of peace and the love wrote the most joyous chorale ever written that took Isiah's words so that people would know who Jesus is. They say Hayden was a stickler for the truth of this prophet who proclaimed the name of Jesus as "and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace! What joy and fellowship we have when we read his word, celebrate his parables, and pray for his guidance to keep us from temptations in all that we do. He's just the greatest.

....humming the Hallelujah chorus as leaving the building...

The Gnostic Christians had a hard time reconciling the God of the OT with the God of the NT so they created two gods. Your interpretation is even dumber than theirs.
Haha... now there is a simplistic white-washed view if I ever saw one.
For one, Gnostics don't believe in two Gods. Rather in a multiplicity. Which is the same as the Christian belief in the three God head.
Only in the Gnostic writings, which BTW pre-dates the Christian New Testament, there are lower "Gods". And the Genesis God is one of those lower Gods. A demanding, jealous and vengeful lower God. And when the high God learned of his activities he gave grace to humans and removed the unreasonable, impossible rules sat by the low God.

Not sure where you are getting your intel from but it's wrong. The God of the OT was the evil God and the God of the NT was the good God.

In our traditions, this canticle describes our belief about God himself:

Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come
Be thou our guide while life shall last
And our immortal home.
I believe our God has kept the promise to Noah that he would never decimate the earth again with flooding. And legend has it that the rainbow following a rain reminds us of that promise. Apparently there are two sides to a promise. And that would be because our forefathers withstood the greatest army the earth had ever known with a man (George Washington) who was totally bonded with almighty God with the purest faith and ideals and a mind that blessed God in almost every speech and written instructions as an example to not only his fellow travellers, but to all who believed in God in the founder's blessed gift of freedom and equality as furnished in the trust that the United Constitution has been to generations of a nation dedicated to the principles of hospitality and brotherly love towards our fellow man. May we find in the Ten commandments that teach people to respect others and to avoid pitfalls that divide people permanently such as murder, bearing false witness against others for personal gain, separating people in a marriage through adultery, stealing, and respecting parents, and learning and honoring God's laws as a strategy of making a life that is good for all. Putting God first and resting from labors one day a week is a sacred law that helps us get ready for working the weekdays to make enough to get by on.

Good evening everybody. Once when I was four years old, I heard Jimmy Durante sing the song "Make someone happy" I think it's still up on youtube and well worth remembering because when you do that it makes you happy too. If we could all work to make others deeply happy, surely there would be no wars.

Night... :huddle::sleep:

Whew, for a minute there I thought you were describing Trump!

And you finding the wallet was Jesus' doing?
Totally. I walked into my local casino 2 weeks ago, shoved a fiddy into the dollar Wheel slot. Third whirl I get Wheel Wheel Wheel. I spin and hit for $800. I jumped up and said: “Thank you Lord Jesus!!” True story :D

I dont doubt your sincerity but those scenarios are blatantly ignorant and wrong. You have no knowledge of what he thinks or does because there is no evidence of him ever living.

For some people it isn't enough to just believe. Like you, they crank it up a notch to imply you have unique access to a God. You don't.
What can be asserted without evidence can dismissed without evidence.

There is really no one like him.

He never commanded an army

He never was leader of a government.

He never had worldly wealth.

He never even wrote of himself, he let others do it for him

He led by serving.

He brought God to man and personalized him.

He loved while being hated, even to his death.

And most importantly, he rose from the dead.

All religions point to him, the only person who can claim that.

No.
The Gnostics wrote an entire book on the "God system"... the God of the OT is not a high God. But an aeon. A derivative of the higher God. And there are many aeons.

Oh, I'm sure you did say that. I'm still not seeing the connection though. But that was a great story. Nothing wrong with the story.

"...The movement of the Cathars (Greek for "the pure") spread in Western and Central Europe in the eleventh century. It seems to have originated in the East, arriving from Bulgaria, the home of Bogomil heresy in the preceding century. The ultimate origins of both, however, are more ancient.

Among the Cathars there were many different groups. Pope Innocent III counted as many as forty Cathar sects. In addition, there existed other sects that had many doctrinal points in common with the Cathars; among the best known were the Albigenses. They are all usually categorized as gnostic or Manichean heresies. In order to avoid unnecessary complexity, we shall describe the beliefs and notions common to all groups, without specifying the relative importance that a particular view might have in a given sect. (For a more detailed account, see 9 [Vol. I], 10, and 11.)

The basic contention in all branches of the movement was the belief in the irreconcilable contradiction between the physical world, seen as the source of evil, and the spiritual world, seen as the essence of good. The so-called dualistic Cathars believed this to be caused by the existence of two Gods--one good, the other evil. It was the God of evil who had created the physical world--the earth with everything that grows upon it, the sky, the sun and the stars, and human bodies as well. The good God, on the other hand, was seen as the creator of the spiritual world, in which there is another, spiritual sky, other stars and another sun. Other Cathars, called monarchian Cathars, believed in one beneficent God, the creator of the universe, but assumed that the physical world was the creation of his eldest, fallen son--Satan or Lucifer. All the Cathars held that the mutual hostility of the realms of matter and spirit allowed for no intermingling. They therefore denied the bodily incarnation of Christ (asserting that his body was a spiritual one, which had only the appearance of physicality) and the resurrection of the flesh. They saw a reflection of their dualism in the division of the Holy Scriptures into Old and New Testaments. They identified the God of the Old Testament, the creator of the physical world, with the evil God or with Lucifer. They professed the New Testament as the teaching of the good God..."
