Reince Priebus thinks Donald Trump has enough 'crossover appeal' to win the general election

"Reince Priebus thinks Donald Trump has enough 'crossover appeal' to win the general election"

Just like Romney.
No one believed that except for the dumb ass Republican establishment. These same dumb asses are saying Trump has no chance...see the pattern?

I don't think the dumb ass Republican establishment believes it either, but they see their dumb ass voters are forcing them to use T-rump, and they know they have to be swept along with the crazy or be left behind. To almost quote Dan Quayle, "What a waste it is for a party to lose one's mind. Or not to have a mind is being very wasteful. How true that is."

If the head of the RNC said this, the establishment must be coming around to the fact Trump will take it all!

Republican National Committee Chair Reince Priebus just gave presidential contender Donald Trump a huge vote of confidence in a Washington Post retrospective published Sunday about the Republican Party's hectic 2015: I'm not one of these people that think that Donald Trump can't win a general election. I actually think there is a huge crossover appeal there to people that are disengaged politically that he speaks to.... Donald Trump taps into the culture. Some people in politics don't get it, don't understand it, are frustrated by it. It doesn't matter. He does.
I'd say Reince might be partially right but also missing a big part of the picture when it comes to Trump's popularity.

When he says, "...think there is a huge crossover appeal there to people that are disengaged politically that he speaks to," he's correct. But he's not saying anything about the folks who are politically engaged and thoroughly fed up with the messes our professional political class of Democrats, Republicans, and others have gotten our country into while they've played their same old same old D.C. games for decades.

What I believe neither the RNC nor DNC want to talk about at all is the range of appeal Trump is garnering across the entire political spectrum, be it right, left, or center now and, more importantly, in the coming months of debate. Thus far nothing Trump has said has hurt him, quite the contrary in fact, but also nothing any Republican or Democrat candidates, party honchos, etc. have been able to dent the Donald.

It's gonna be a fun 10+ months.

Thus far nothing Trump has said has hurt him with the crazies he is pandering to. The general election voters will have a much wider range of sanity. It won't be just the right wing teabagger base like it is now.

From blacks? no

From gays? no

From Hispanics? No way.

From Muslims? You outta your mind?

I wonder who he's talking about?

Head to head against Hilliary, Trump will win in a landslide. I think old Mao Tse Sanders would do better against the Donald than Hilliary will.

What else would you expect him to say?
If he was truthful, he would say something like this.

" It looks like our nominee is going to be the biggest idiot who ever wanted to be president. He's insulted every major demographic, and some of the main ones multiple times, and there isn't a chance in hell of him being elected. We have had several meetings to try to figure out some way to get rid of him, but it looks like we're just stuck. We worked so hard to create a right wing that will believe any stupid thing we told them, but it's backfired on us."
Republican National Committee Chair Reince Priebus

And he will be your president. Trump will take every state except California, New York, and Oregon.

The ONLY way Hilliary can win is with Trump as a third party spoiler. In a head to head race, you have no chance. Your rulers know this, even if they haven't programmed you mindless drones to understand it.

I'm sure it looks that way from inside your bubble. Why don't we ask president Romney what he thinks about it?

I don't vote for Republican's and wouldn't qualify myself as a dumbass because I'm supporting him ;)

There are a lot of black people who support Trump. Kind of surprised me.

Hispanics are 16% of the population, Muslims less than 1%. You Communists feel nice and secure that you have 17% locked down.

The reality is Comrade, Trump supporters are motivated. His opposition isn't. YOU are a partisan hack, but most of those who voted for Obama are barely interested and sure the fuck don't like Hillary. Most of the undecided will do what they usually do, not bother to vote.

In a head to head, Trump wins in a landslide. Your rulers know this and are in a panic.

DailyKOS isn't the real world, though it does your thinking for you.

Trump is nothing like Romney, what an absurd and desperate thing to say. Are your handlers training you drones to use that one?

I'm not a fan of Trump, he will be a fucking disaster or a president. But if he runs head to head against Hilliary, he WILL be president. Your rulers in the party know this, even if they haven't secreted the pheromones that pass the message to you.

You might not qualify yourself as a dumb ass, but many do.

If you say so.

If you say so.

I do.

No one, and I mean NO ONE likes Hilliary. The pro abortion fanatics promote her because they view her as a supporter of expanded abortion. The radical feminists support her because she has a vagina. The lesbian community supports her because she is a lesbian. BUT no one, not even her supporters, actually like the old crook. A turnip promoting their agenda would be more appealing to these single issue voters. Hillary is the democrat's Mitt Romney, it's her turn, but no one is very excited about it.

For you democratic - socialists to win, you need to motivate the millennials to get off the XBox, put down the bong, and go to the polls. Hilliary ain't going to do that.

And yet she leads everyone else in most of the polls. Why is that?

Assumes facts not in reality.

CNN has Clinton at 49% Trump 47% with a margin of 3%

Quinnipiac University has Cruz at 45% Clinton 44%

Yes, MSDNC has their candidate ahead by 5%, but they have a poor track record for accuracy. NBC exists to promote the democrats, not provide reliable information.

WH2016: General

The media is on a mission to derail the Trump candidacy, that's pretty clear. They jump on anything and everything he says, thinking eventually something will stick. It may have a minimal effect on his poll numbers but most people agree with what he says. They may not like the way he says it but they agree with it. Over time, they may convince some that he isn't presidential enough but then those people see Hillary on their tv at a rally, lying, cackling and shrieking, and suddenly Trump doesn't seem so bad. Hillary represents everything that's wrong in politics and government today and there's gonna be a peaceful revolution this fall when Trump wins the election.
