I've explained this to you multiple times.

But let's try one more time.

The case was dismissed by Judge Susan Weber Wright on April 1st, 1998. Her reasoning for dismissing it was that at the time, to prove FEDERAL sexual harassment, you had to prove that the harasser was 1) A direct supervisor and 2) had created a hostile work environment for the employee through detrimental job actions.

This simply wasn't the case. Clinton was not a direct supervisor, the agency she worked for was not supervised by the governor directly, and she suffered no job setbacks because of it. (She quit the job on her own, for unrelated reasons.)

AFTER the dismissal of the case, the Supreme Court ruled on Burlington v. Ellerth case, which expanded the definition of sexual harassment and giving Jones a possible (although unlikely) path for appeal. At this point, Jones was willing to settle because she had already racked up 2 million in legal fees that her new right wing friends weren't willing to pick up. Clinton was willing to settle because Jones dropped her insistence on an apology. Of the $850K, $650K of it went to her lawyers. Jones only saw $200,000, and the first thing she did was get a nose job, because White Trash gonna White Trash.
