Everybody knows that the dip in gas prices from the 3.50 range in the early fall of 2008 to 1.69 or so a gallon when President Obama was inaugurated was caused by the recession. Furthermore everybody also knows only political hacks use that as some kind of mean starting point.

THis is all in line with Obama's plan. He wanted to price oil beyond the reach of the average person in order to "force" them to use alternate energy.

I've never seen gas that high. It certainly never got that high here in Washington and Hawaii. The highest I've ever seen it is in Hawaii and it was 4.49 a gallon.

Now it's close to 2 dollars a gallon.

When it was high the right wingers blamed Obama. Now that it's low they don't credit Obama.
