Rep Pat Meehan (R) says he has affection for younger aide, saw her as soul mate, denies harassment

You know, there are several things here.....................

First off, he was married at the time he considered this younger female his "soul mate". I'm pretty sure his wife would be less than amused by that comment.

Then, there is the fact that he wrote her a letter sounding like a heartbroken grade school kid, as well as the fact that he made a settlement with her for sexual harassment.

So, he was harassing the female in question. Not only do we have the letter he wrote, but there is also a record of the settlement.

Nope, this dude is a scumbag, especially when you consider the fact that he was on the ethics committee as well as was investigating other Congress critters for sexual harassment.

Maybe the logic was that it takes a sexual predator to find a sexual predator.
But....but...but...he's the victim here.....you know...a victim of "you people".

Publicly calling someone other than his wife his "soul mate" is bad. Leaving the woman a letter is worse, and finally, the record of settlement for sexual harassment is the final straw.

As a friend of mine used to say............."Once is happenstance, twice is circumstance, third time is overt enemy action."

maybe this helps.

is this a creep?

Absolutely....as is this guy...

Allow me to reiterate: There is NO WAY Obama could have 1) had an affair with a porn star 2) while Michelle was pregnant! 3) paid her $130k to keep it on the low 4) and STILL have religious folks defending him! There would have been a mob at the WH demanding for his removal!!!

So he worked with a younger women and developed inappropriate feelings for her.

It happens.

He did not act on them, from what we can see.

So, what is your point?

If I were a Female/Male Staff getting a letter(s) and looks from this guy
like this. Is why it was reported. It was a rational response to a BOSS
creep in the office. IT may try a Great Pussy Grabber Douche Move.
So the person is safe, for reporting it.

So, your point is that if inappropriate feelings develop that one should report the potential for sexual harassment?

Seems a bit harsh to report someone for MAYBE someday doing something.
It's like reporting child abuse......leave it to the proper authorities to investigate.

Sounds like you want potential victims to be silent and just take it.
Take what? Of course they should be silent. They have nothing to complain about.

This is like those crazy women complaining that they are potential rape victims and want men prosecuted.

This case IS the GOP...the pervert in Alabama IS the GOP...the pervert in the WH IS the GOP.

So, you're dropping your pretend outrage over Rep Meehan, to just spout off more unproven allegations and lies?

Your tacit admission that you have nothing on Meehan, is accepted.

The rest of your crap is dismissed and laughed at.
Amazing......feel free to go down with the male chauvanist pervert ship.

What do you think the end game for you people are?
"you people"....

Wow. That desperate to avoid the question?

What a coward you are.
Laughing at the "you people" comment. It was pretty funny....and quite appropriate.

It was completely appropriate. You libs are pretty much a hive mind.

And you are afraid to answer the completely reasonable and serious question.

And your games are not hiding that at all. Loser.

We have the letter.

You say there is more, but you don't say what it was.

The Letter does not justify the manufactured hysteria of the Left.

RAPE?
He might have gotten away with it if he hadn't sent the woman a letter.

Got away with what, exactly?
harassment

So, you don't know either.

Got it.

Sexual harassment in the work place... superior-inferior.

If this was so innocent on Meehan's part and he only wanted a grandfather/grand daughter type of soulmate relationship with her as Jim laughably stated...

Then Meehan would have invited her to his home, to have dinner on the weekends with his family, even with her boyfriend there too, so they too can welcome this "soulmate" of his in to the family and share in this innocent "soulmate" grandpa experience with grandma too!

Instead he paid her the hush money with our taxes, because he said he wanted to stay with his wife and save "his marriage" and thought using our taxes and this method of gag orders in the Congress etc, would keep the whole thing 'quiet'.

I don't blame him for that, other than using our taxes for it....

but it does not seem like the actions of an entirely innocent man....

I never claimed it was innocent. I said, there is no evidence that he did anything more than write an inappropriate letter.

THat is not reason to destroy a career or a life.

Al Franken

Wasn't us cons that forced him out of office.

I discussed how his behavior showed the hypocrisy of the Left, but I never called for him to resign, nor do I think men should be forced to resign based solely on accusations of a crime.

That was very vague.

We have the letter and a lot of libs implying that there is more to this.

Were you referring to the letter he wrote, or to the claims of "more"?

Or are you just being vague to try to give the illusion that you have a point, while dodging real debate?
