Republicans Vote Against Anti-Corruption Bill

Only to be expected I think. If you take the corruption out of government all the republicans will go with it.

Ya mean like the institutional corruption of Jack Abramoff...

And Duke Cunningham

House passes HR 1 government overhaul, sending it back to campaign trail

The other day the Democratically controlled House of Representatives passed an anti-corruption bill over the objection of EVERY Republican member.

The Bill then went to the Senate where Turtle McConnell said he would NOT bring it to a vote.

When asked why, his response was "Because I decide what we vote on"

We will NEVER get corruption dealt with if we keep voting for Republicans

Voting AGAINST this bill is an open admission that you ARE a whore looking for a John......

The 2020 election slogans are being prepared.......

/---/ Looks like another 700 pages bullshyt way for democRATs to steal more votes. BTW it's not the Feds role to impose voting laws on the states.
The overhaul, totaling about 700 pages, seeks to remake the nation’s voting, campaign finance and ethics laws. It would impose new requirements on states to offer early voting and online and same-day voter registration and would establish an optional 6-to-1 public matching system for political donations under $200. The proposal would mandate nonpartisan commissions to redraw the boundaries of congressional districts.

Don't you mean a method by which gerrymandering and other voter suppression measures are ended.

The 2018 elections were the worst in terms of voter suppression by Republican states. In court case after court case, judges noted that the aim of states measures was to restrict the ability of the poor or minorities to cast a legal vote. Things like "exact match", changing address requirements on native reservations, and not having a polling station accessible by public transit, are exactly targeting those who don't vote Republican,

I think a reasonable argument can be made that the current patchwork of regulations, voting times, and the advance voting period should be mandated by the feds because otherwise people in some states are being given MORE opportunities than people in other states, and equality in opportunity to vote should be essential to fair elections.

All polling stations throughout the nation should be open the same hours, and early voting periods should be the same for all states.

/——/ Voting is a state matter, not a Federal one. We don’t need democRATs rigging the voting laws in their favor. And letting Illegals voting is OK with you?

According to the link it is just another way to get money into the political coffers of politicians.

Like all bills the title is just a political correctness game. More partisan games. That’s all it is.

Harry Reid was loved by Democrats for tabling House bills, McConnel is hated by Democrats for tabling bills. Republicans hated Reid for tabling bills, McConnell is loved by Republicans for tabling bills.

I really see no difference in the two corrupt party’s.

Morons like OneCellBrain makes allegation based on what he sees in his toilet bowl.....and forgets what happened in NC last November............LOL

That 6-1 match is about getting CORPORATE money out of elections.

You contribute $50 and the government contributes $300. That gives US power and takes it away from corporations.

Of COURSE Republicans are against that

First that bill is a partisan joke and anyone who is honest knows it and second when the Republicans controlled the House after the 2010 midterms and the Democrats had the Senate Harry Reid did the exact same thing McConnell just did.

This current Bill is really a refutation of the power "bought" by corporations through Citizen United...

Further, this Bill actually reinforces the [empty] promise that Trump made to his nitwit-base that he would get lobbyists out of the Capitol.

Pretty strange how a noncitizen from another country is concerned about our voting methods. Last election the left was all concerned about foreign interests. Seems suspicious and odd.

What is "suspicious" about people who have kids in schools and pay local taxes having an interest in those school elections?

Since you're a moron.......you're basically saying that as a partisan hack, TWO wrongs have to be right...Correct?

It's a good idea, we need a national voter database tied into citizenship registry where each living registered voter gets one (1) vote and an ID card.

No more sending both absentee ballot and also showing up at the polling place.

Sounds "great"........Should we also have a gun-owner database???.....................(careful, nitwit...lol)

It's not an anti-corruption bill. It's a "pro voter fraud and insure the election of Democrats" bill.

No one was fooled.

This Bill MUST pass..........It would be the beginning of refuting Citizen United; the beginning of corrupt politicians to retire and stop polluting the Wh and Congress; and the beginning of what EVERY republican who voted against it AND running in 2020 will rue their sorry asses................GO FOR IT........
