Then there is this found in a book by Michael Savage Stop the Coming Civil War

Catholicism [once] hated communism. Pope Leo XIII wrote an encyclical condemning it. Let me give you some quotes from... Encyclical on Capital and Labor, written more than a hundred years ago:

The socialists, working on the poor man's envy of the rich, are striving to do away with private property, and contend that individual possessions should become the common property of all, to be administered by the State... [Gee, we could just stop right there, couldn't we?]. They hold that by thus transferring property from private individuals to the community, the present mischievous state of things [the gap between the rich and the poor] will be set to rights... each citizen will.. get his fair share of whatever there is to enjoy. But... [were these plans] carried into effect
the working man himself would be among the first to suffer. They are... emphatically unjust, for they would rob the lawful possessor [and] distort the functions of the state [which should not be interfering all the time, in every damn way]... Socialists... strike at the interests of every wage-earner, since they would deprive him of the liberty of disposing of his wages, and thereby of all hope... of increasing his resources and of bettering his condition in life [not to mention that state control is a monstrous thing (human nature being what it is)].

It’s ridiculous, and testimony to the success of cultural Marxism, that this is even debated.
um... what?

Oh, I get it.. ridiculous that it is debated

Well, yeh, the assholes have taken over. But the Rs did win the House. Now we will see.. if any R gets validly elected again. If they don't do anything to stop the insanity, few will vote for them. . and/or it won't matter because most state voting system will be or remain corrupted..

Socialism rises where capitalism fails to meet the needs of the people. If you think capitalism is so great then work on saving it from itself rather than worrying about what happens after it fails.

realized. It most often results in massive human suffering. Capitalism fails miserably when compared with a heaven or utopia promised by socialism. But any earthly system is going to come up short in such a comparison. Mankind must make choices among alternative economic systems that actually exist. It turns out that for the common man capitalism, with all of its alleged shortcomings, is superior to any system yet devised to deal with his everyday needs and desires. By most any measure of human well-being, people who live in countries toward the capitalistic end of the economic spectrum are far better off than their fellow men who live in countries toward the socialist end.” --Walter Williams RIP (1936 - 2020 - Professor of Economics at George Mason University.)

News flash 98% of socialist leaders dont believe in socialism or communism or cultural Marxism. They preach it to gain power get elected and enrich themselves. It's all a big lie.

". . .people who attribute income inequality to capitalists exploiting workers, as Karl Marx claimed, never seem to get around to testing that belief against facts — such as the fact that none of the Marxist regimes around the world has ever had as high a standard of living for working people as there is in many capitalist countries. . ."
Thomas Sowell -- Academic Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institute.

you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

There are FAR MORE homeless people since the virtual demise of capitalism that has taken place on bidim's watch (obummer's before him).

The system in DC is set up to make the rich richer and the poor poorer. And which party has had almost total control of Congress and the WH the last 2 years?

Look at dim-run California.. people living in tents all over the place...

you are clueless

Socialism meets the needs of the people?

Yea, like North Korea

Thanks for a great article on socialism from Sowell.

He nailed it as far as the point about how we need to get around mere rhetoric and examine the (OMG, say the dims)FACTS.

People still don't get it that when there is no incentive to produce.. people will not produce. Gee, that was hard, wasn't it?

But people just don't get it. One reason is they are not being educated. our educational system, taken over by the federal govt thanks to Jimma catta... is a wreck. Don't send your kids to public schools!!! Parents who love their children should never even consider it..

Anyway, where was I?

I hope all people read these words from Sowell and others.. And let it... as per Musk.. LOL... "sink in"

EXCELLENT

If young people could just get THAT through their head... maybe our country could survive.

There are no educators worthy of that title who would applaud the virtues of socialism given its miserable track record. Socialism is virtue/compassion/benevolence in opposition to the evil greed of capitalism? No. You cannot evaluate the stated intent until you look at the ultimate consequences of any system or policy.

Speaking on capitalism vs socialism:
"Well first of all, tell me: Is there some society you know that doesn’t run on greed? You think Russia doesn’t run on greed? You think China doesn’t run on greed? What is greed? Of course, none of us are greedy, it’s only the other fellow who’s greedy. The world runs on individuals pursuing their separate interests.

The great achievements of civilization have not come from government bureaus. Einstein didn’t construct his theory under order from a bureaucrat. Henry Ford didn’t revolutionize the automobile industry that way. In the only cases in which the masses have escaped from the kind of grinding poverty you’re talking about, the only cases in recorded history, are where they have had capitalism and largely free trade.

If you want to know where the masses are worse off, worst off, it’s exactly in the kinds of societies that depart from that. So that the record of history is absolutely crystal clear, that there is no alternative way so far discovered of improving the lot of the ordinary people that can hold a candle to the productive activities that are unleashed by the free-enterprise system.”
― Milton Friedman (Nobel prize winner in economics)

“It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own self-interest."

― Adam Smith, An Inquiry into the Nature & Causes of the Wealth of Nations, Vol 1

If you are looking for a scapegoat blame the winners in our rigged system rather than the victims of it.

I learned a great deal of economics from Milton Friedman as well as Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams et al, all who were instrumental in teaching in a profound way how to evaluate things via critical thinking instead of raw or knee jerk emotions.

To pretend something is 'helping' when it is instead 'discouraging, holding back, preventing, destroying' is the hallmark of bad government anywhere in the world. Most European countries are capitalist countries utilizing some socialist policies as is the USA and as all their citizens prosper more than those in pure socialist countries.

It is the very liberties/unalienable rights and free market protected by a unique U.S. Constitution that has allowed us to prosper like no other. And those trying to tear down capitalist concepts and replace with socialist ones may be doing so for their own personal gain. If they think they are doing it for America they darn sure won't produce a stronger, freer, more prosperous America any more than any other country that has destroyed or weakened or damaged itself from within with socialist concepts.

Thanks for that quote from Adam Smith. I had not heard that one

Maybe all us conservatives should start schools... to teach children what they are not being taught in the public schools, which again, parents who objectively love their children do not send them to public schools..

Most of Americans are stubbornly of the opinion that capitalism doesn't include some socialist policies that are proven to work very well in the world's leading democratic countries.

Even communist China practices capitalism of a style that includes socially responsible government for all their people!

Without the social responsibility, China would have never been able to demonstrate the greatest accomplishments any government has ever achieved.. The elevating of hundredss of millions of people up out of poverty in a few short years!

While the hardcore American right professed that all social responsibility in government must be eliminated!

Socialism appeals to those that are child like.

Chinese people have no rights. The ccp can do whatever they want. Not surprised you brought this up. It's what the Democrats want in the USA.

Schools of economics are already heavily endowed by very rich people to teach a certain narrative that has only served to make them richer.

no, no... not childlike

child-ISH

There's a difference. Jesus said to turn and become like children but he didn't mean to be childish like the libtards.. Maybe he meant: Grow up but don't give up ... I dunno.. innocence? Trust in God? Children naturally trust (until that trust is destroyed, a very tragic thing obviously..)

libs are like children who are denied something they think they shouldn't be denied.. raging temper tantrum ensues
