It doesn't matter what you think they are. Canada & Mexico can't stand Donald Trump. They both make fun of him, along with Germany, the UK and all of the EU. Now add them all together and imagine the jokes they have come up with. Imagine what they're thinking when they see someone wearing the "MAGA" hat---
There's certain attire you wear in certain places, and the MEGA hat belongs at a pig roast in the southeast porton of this country and no where else.
I should care about what Mexico thinks since they have been pawing off their poorest and least education for decades and are now pissed that it is stopping? Canada is being ran by a globalist that is allowing anyone that can fog a mirror top come ionto his country.....why should I care?

Really---Come back and tell me about it when you're paying 3 times more for products, and you get your pink slip, how much Canada and every other country "needs us" when they'll be forming trade agreements with each other while stuffing American products in the closet with a not for sale here sign on them.

A trade deficit is nothing more than a paper deficit. We cannot expect smaller populated countries like Canada & Mexico to buy two washers & dryers and 5 American cars per family. We buy more because we're a larger population creating a paper deficit. Henceforth, every sale of an American product is a trade SURPLUS. Without the Global economy the United States would not survive.
Since we are a global economy, U.S. corporations have to be able to sell their products overseas. To remain competitive overseas they have to ship manufacturing jobs overseas, so someone in a lower economically developed country can afford to buy an I-phone. The benefit to you is that you're not paying $2000.00 for an I-phone that was manufactured in the United states, where employers are required to pay social security/medicare, unemployment insurance, workman's comp insurance and medical insurance.
It's really not rocket science.

NAFTA, CAFTA and GATT has hurt America and it was done purposely. The current system of trade deficits cannot continue without further eroding blue collar jobs that have to compete with slave labor. America did just fine without an income tax and a foreign owned central bank. Tariffs were put in place to protect the American worker that socialist Woodrow Wilson did away with and THEN signed off on the 16th amendment (that was never ratified by enough states) that charged workers for a portion of their labor....one more plank of the communist manifesto.
