Revisionist history focusing on 1/6 is getting louder.

At any rate, the evidence and testimony shows (including from Sund himself) that they did not think that the protest would become violent because previous similar rallies never did.

Would the Sergeants at Arms, Sund, and the DC Police and the Parks Police have prepared differently if Don Trump and his enablers hadn't deceived them by illegally ordering a march. A march that they had planned for and for which they had ordered all 'in-the-know' to keep secret from the authorities.

It is a valid question to ask ...'Did Don Trump and enablers intend that an understaffed, unprepared force of police would be protecting the Capitol on the day the EC vote was being tallied?

Why would they want a skeleton force to be overwhelmed by the mob they knew they would be sending at them?
What's up with that?

This tempest-in-a-teapot about National Guard and the military would be moot if Trump & enablers had followed the law and requested a permit for the march they knew they would announce.

In fact, one who was in-the-know denied to the officials that there would be a march....when she knew one would be ordered from the podium by Trump.

That protocol for permitting would have alerted all law enforcement that a mob was coming straight at our elected Representatives......and they could then have had re-enforced security.

There was mendacity afoot. Mendacity by Don Trump and his circle of enablers and sycophants. And it was corrosive and harmful to America. And will be for years to come. And that will be Don Trump's true legacy.

The law, linked to, not by me, but by the demoRATS, by the OP, all state the Capitol Police Chief had the power to request the National Guard but that power was taken away.

You have that completely backwards.

On Insurrection Day, the Capitol Police Chief did NOT have the authority to request NG be deployed. On that day, it required the Capitol Police Board to make that call.

Subsequently to Insurrection Day, because of that attack, law was passed giving the Capitol Police Chief unilateral discretion to request NG deployment in D.C..

"Illegal march"???????
WTF?

No, that's not what the law said at all. You've totally misread it.

On January 6th, 2021, the Capitol Police Board had the option to call in NG without consulting Congressional Leadership, but they didn't really seem to know this and asked anyway. The second they asked, they got approval.

Before January 6th, when the Chief of Police asked the Board about National Guard, he was told no by the board. Before January 6th, the Board did not consult with Congressional leadership to get guidance on this. They decided amongst themselves to ask the NG to be ready to assist in an emergency and not declare an emergency prior to the Joint Session.

Nothing was taken away.

Nancy Pelosi never prevented the NG from being deployed.

You persist in believing that the Capitol Police Board reports solely to the Speaker of the House, which is incorrect.

He thinks that because he insanely thinks Pelosi is the leader of Congress.

Yes . Illegal March

The permit that was applied for was only for the Elipse rally and subsequent documentation showed that the assholes who made that application planned on marching to the Capitol from the very beginning.
Well fuck all that, we have First Amendment Rights to air grievances so FUCK your "permits"!!!!!! :dev3:

Nowhere have you proven that Nancy Pelosi was asked or refused anything to do with the NG

And you “timeline” was created by Kash fucking Patel

He’s a lying piece of shit

He posting his hallucinations. That's why he can't prove anything he's saying. He just wants everyone here to accept his claims as gospel.

"Illegal march"???????
WTF?

Their permit was for a protest at the Ellipse. They had no permit to march from the Ellipse to the Capitol. So why should the Capitol Police Board have approved deploying NG when they had no knowledge in advance that Trump was planning on marching with that mob to the Capitol?

Trump REQUESTED the NG be present for that day well ahead of it happening. Of course, he was DENIED.

Trump made no such request. In a meeting with his Defense Secretary, Trump suggested 10000 NG might be needed to protect his rally goers. His Defense Secretary didn't take him seriously and therefore, never issued such a request.

"He made no such request", then you describe him making the request.
Oh Kay......
