I can understand why musk et al might not want tech bros held accountable.

Should government be held responsible if they allow illegal citizens in their country and these citizens commit a crime against another legal citizen?

THAT crime is more deliberate and preventable, isn't it? This would include crimes such as human trafficking, smuggling and the like.

Vietnam was once overrun by thousands of illegal aliens, they ended up killing a million people with bombs, helicopters, agent orange and napalm, what goes around comes around I guess.

(By the way, what exactly is an illegal citizen? some new concept from Project 2025?)

So, free speech is no longer supported in Europe. A continent that is embracing radicals who support the beheading of teachers and murdering of magazine publishers exactly because they exercized free speech. This radicalism has extended into speech and your freedom.

All of it will become most interesting when they can't recruit for their military and citizens will ask "who is more my enemy today"?

It's funny, just speaking the truth renders you an enemy of the state just as they did in the former East Germany and Soviet Union. Then when the state collapses in the same manner, they will blame everyone else but their own leadership.

Remember when all of you celebrated the victories of the far-left and I warned you? Get ready. America may have to fight WWIII alone...

Get closer to Taiwan, Japan et al. Thanks to foreign agencies who are head and shoulders above their adversaries, Europe is in trouble.

RFK Jr., Elon Musk and more reacted to the news that Telegram messaging app CEO Pavel Durov was arrested in France by speaking out in support of free speech on social media.

"The need to protect free speech has never been more urgent," RFK Jr. wrote on X, reacting to the news, just days after he endorsed former President Trump.

Billionaire and Telegram messaging app CEO Pavel Durov was arrested in Paris on Saturday night, according to TF1 TV and BFM TV, Reuters reported. According to TF1, Durov was served an arrest warrant in relation to a preliminary police investigation.
Current Situation

Pavel Durov, the CEO of Telegram, has been arrested in France. He was taken into custody at Le Bourget airport near Paris on Saturday evening after arriving on a private jet from Azerbaijan. Reports indicate that he was subject to an arrest warrant issued by French authorities.

Reasons for Arrest

Durov's arrest is reportedly linked to allegations concerning the moderation of content on the Telegram platform. French authorities have accused him of failing to adequately control the use of Telegram for illegal activities, including drug trafficking, money laundering, and other serious offenses. The arrest warrant suggests that his actions (or lack thereof) may amount to complicity in these crimes.

Reactions

The situation has drawn significant attention, with various figures commenting on Durov's arrest. Some have labeled him a "political prisoner," suggesting that the arrest is part of a broader "witch-hunt" against individuals associated with Russia. The Russian embassy in France is reportedly seeking to clarify the circumstances surrounding his detention.

In summary, Pavel Durov's arrest in France is confirmed, and it stems from serious allegations regarding his management of the Telegram messaging app.

Pavel Durov's Background

Pavel Durov is indeed a Russian name, as he was born in Russia and is a Russian-born business executive. He is best known as the co-founder and CEO of Telegram Messenger Inc. and the social networking site VKontakte (VK).

Relationship with Putin

Durov has had a contentious relationship with the Russian government, particularly under Vladimir Putin's administration. He was forced to sell his stake in VK in 2014 after refusing to comply with demands from Russian authorities to hand over user data, which he believed would compromise user privacy and safety. Following this, he left Russia and has not returned since, stating that he has no plans to do so and has even renounced his Russian citizenship.

Durov has publicly criticized the Kremlin and has been vocal about the pressures he faced from Putin's government. His departure from Russia was largely due to his refusal to cooperate with state demands, which he viewed as a violation of privacy rights. Thus, while he is Russian by birth, he has distanced himself from Putin and the Russian political landscape.

==>France = Orwellian state now.
This guy has something. Just keep using Telegram app if you want to support him. :)

OFMIN, a part of the national directorate of the French judicial police, had placed an arrest warrant on Durov, a French-Russian dual national, due to lack of cooperation with law enforcement and suspected complicity in drug trafficking, pedophilia criminal offenses, and fraud, according to TF1
