Romney has money parked in the Cayman Islands???

Okay, CG, if you really think this is going to go over well with average working folks who play by the rules and pay their taxes and are struggling in this economy.

I am an 'average working folk who play by the rules and pay their taxes and is struggling in this economy'.

As long as Romney, or Obama, or Newt, or who the fuck ever, doesn't break any laws, I don't care HOW they shelter their income.

If you don't like the tax laws, elect someone who will change them. Don't whine about people who studied them, found the flaws, and used them.

For the record, I think the tax laws need to be simplified, and loopholes that allow tax shelters offshore need to be fixed.
There is nothing wrong with sheltering income. Anyone with a 401K or an IRA is doing so. However sheltering income via offshore accounts adds a veil of secrecy and it is that veil of secrecy that can destroy a candidate. Voters want total transparency in their presidential candidates. When a candidate throws up a curtain around any part of their lives, the opposition and the media will exploit it to it's fullest. I think this is just one of a number of problems that Romney has that will make him unelectable.

why is it a 'veil of secrecy'? Because YOU did not know he was doing it? Please.

Obama threw up a few curtains during the election, and still has them up. Where are the investigative reports on that?

Do the banks in the Camyan Islands loan money to American small business and industry? Do we know that Mr. Romney's wealth is being used to stimulate the American economy?

Is it possible that his money is loaned to Hugo Chavez, or Raul Castro?

Does even Mr. Romney know (or care)?

What business is it of yours what Romney does with his money? Answer... none.

You cannot hold depositor responsible for what the bank invests in, dip-shit. Unless you want to apply that standard to ALL banks... even the ones Democrats have their money in.

Good for Romney

Let him make a political ad on why parking money offshore is good for America

luckily, we live in a country where Romney doesn't need to ask you what he can or cannot, should or should not, do with his own money.

Actually Sallow... Prostitution in Vegas is illegal....It's illegal in any city with a population of 50K or more.... but I get your point.

No more "ranches"?

Oh yeah.... there's ranches, just not in Vegas. In smaller cities and rurally, prostitution is legal in Nevada, but not in Bigger cities. Found that out when my wife and went to visit and a tour guide explained it. Sure, it's in Vegas... it's even very obvious(people give you pictured "business" cards on the street(they look kind of like Baseball Cards) for "escorts".

What happens behind closed doors in Vegas, happens... I guess.

suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure... the 'tour guide' explained it to you... ;)

Of course he doesn't need to ask.....this is America he can do anything that is legal with his money

And when he runs against Obama he can tell America what a good thing it is that he pays less than 15% income tax and keeps his money in offshore tax shelters

so, he breaks no laws, and you expect him to detail the fact he broke no laws... all because of your petty jealousy and partisan politics. Got it.

Legal and illegal is different than right and wrong or cool and uncool. Repubs will find out that the average Joe will consider stashing money in the Camans, while legal, is not cool.
It's totally cool.

If I had that kind of cash to stash, I'd be stashing it there...or Grenada...or Costa Rica....or the Solomons....
Along with every drug lord, gun runner, terrorist organization, and now the would be Republican nominee for President of the United States.

Jealous? Of course not

Americans will be proud that Romney gets such a good deal on his taxes and will let him know when they go to vote

of course you're jealous.

I also noticed you did not deny being a partisan hack... kudos on being honest about that one.

How did I know that was coming:eusa_angel:

Why, I am just a defender of truth, justice and the American way

A veil of secrecy exists because the Cayman banking laws created it. They will release no information, not even the fact that a person has an account without a court order specifying that the person is charged with a crime in that country and the bank records are required in that prosecution. This veil of secrecy attracts customers from all over the world who have reason to keep their bank transactions a secret.

George Town in Grand Cayman has a population of about 30,000 and nearly 300 banks. That's one bank for every 100 residents. Thanks to the banking laws, the Caymans have one of the highest per capita incomes in world and are custodians for much of the worlds terrorist and drug money.

Romney Parks Millions in Cayman Islands - ABC News

This alarms me a bit. I'm sure further investigation will follow but this causes me a few red flags.

We gotta make damn sure our nominee is FULLY vetted. We don't need any October surprises to cost us the election.

You are very late. Mitt is the man. Yes, he is hiding money to keep from paying US taxes....just the kind of guy we need in the White House.....NOT!

Blablablabla...

If you liberoidal windbags didn't support idiotic drug laws, gun control laws and onerous tax burdens, there'd be no reason for those enterprises to exist.

You've met the enemy, Scooter, and he is ye.

The money he put into those accounts was after tax money. He had already paid all the taxes that were due on it.

Yup...and he wants to make sure he doesn't have to pay taxes on any of his future profits

The Super PACs are going to have a field day with this

There is no way of knowing how the money is invested. Bank employees by law can reveal nothing about these accounts, not even their existence.

I'll use small words for you, Chris, to make it easier for you to understand...

Did
he
break
any
laws?

If so, he should be investigated, prosecuted, and if found guilty, punished, to the fullest extent of the law.

If not, you and yours should all shut the fuck up about it and go on about your hate filled lives.
The fact that no one can prove he broke the law does not make him a good candidate. In fact, the less baggage a candidate has the better and Romney certain has quite a bit.

Ask the voters

If they are fine with Romney paying at a 15% rate and hiding money offshore then I guess there is no problem

So if he elected and begins steps to reduce the deficit, off shore accounts that are designed to avoid US taxes will be off the table. NICE!

Republican Hypocrisy at its Very Best!
