Ron Paul: Crimea Secedes. So What?...

Another costly Foreign Policy debacle. That's all this is. Many will get rich and grow more powerful off this. They're the winners. Some Politicians, Corporations, and the Military Industrial Complex. But as usual, the big loser will be the average American Citizen. After it's all said & done, this misadventure is gonna cost em several $Billion in Tax Dollars. And with soaring gas & grocery prices here at home, it's money they just don't have. So there will be winners in this misadventure, but the American People won't be one of em.

What I don't get are the number of conservatives who have bought into this bullshit that we are being handed. The same conservatives on this board who know damn well that we get lied to every day whether it's about Benghazi, Syria, Obamacare, Fast and Furious, the IRS, hell's bells you name it and the administration is lying about it

I don't get it at all.

"Now let’s be logical.

"When John Kerry denounces this document before the ink is dry, when President Obama and Susan Rice publicly endorse this forgery after it has been amply exposed in world media as disinformation, we must logically conclude that this propaganda morsel was a deliberate part of the US strategy to destabilize Ukraine by slandering pro-Russian anti-fascists as anti-Semitic.

"The purpose is clearly to drown out news of the pro-Nazi sympathies of the Svoboda party and the Right Sector that the US has chosen as anti-Russian allies.

"How can top US leaders be perfectly aware of what is written in Ukrainian on a piece of paper glued to a synagogue in Donetsk, and not know what was written in Haaretz and The New Republic?

"These endorsements are strong evidence of complicity in the forgery, since it is not credible that Kerry, Rice and Obama were too innocent to suspect a forgery."

Ignore tinydancer, it is either a Russian plant on this board or a nutjob posting from some trailer park in the US.

She defends Russia 24/7 here.

Strange that people in Crimea are now not very happy with the "invaders" she bloviates about here non-stop.

Reality is Putin is writing checks his ass can't cash, that is why he is holding off invading greater Ukraine. Stealing Crimea was easy, but paying for the invasion there and also taking over bigger chunks of Ukraine with his conscript military (aka non-volunteers) is expensive for his bankrupt goobermint.

No matter how much tinydancer cheers on Putin, in the end he will fail with a bullet in his head.

Nor will the vast majority of Ukrainians be counted among the winners. Obama seems intent on aggravating turmoil in Ukraine until it reaches a level where NATO will move to deprive Russia of its geographical buffer against western military aggression.

An Indian POV on Ukraine:

"What happened on Wednesday (April 16) in eastern Ukraine should be a wake-up call for the US President Barack Obama. A column of Ukrainian paratroopers belonging to the elite 24th Airborne Brigade entered the city of Kramatorsk, meets with no resistance, and were instead greeted by unarmed civilians with flowers and food.

"The soldiers had been told that the city was swarming with Russian special forces — and, finding none, they disarmed and either deserted their unit or stayed around and joined the local people protesting for autonomy for their region.

"The 'anti-terrorist operation' ordered by the interim government in Kiev, with American backing, stands discredited.

"Russia won a huge victory in the ‘information war’. But Moscow knows it is Pyrrhic victory. Evidently, Moscow prefers Ukraine to remain as one unified country, albeit as a federation allowing broad autonomy for the eastern region dominated by ethnic Russian communities.

"But if the crackdown ordered by the authorities in Kiev with US encouragement is pushed further, a civil war may well ensue, as President Vladimir Putin warned German Chancellor Angela Merkel in a phone call on Tuesday."

Ukraine: No winners, only losers - Indian Punchline

"The tragedy is that like a sleepwalker, Obama is following the footsteps of his immediate predecessors George W Bush and Bill Clinton in his Russia policy. The same old Russia hands, who assisted Bill Clinton, continue to mentor Obama’s current policies toward the Kremlin."

As I recall the USMB poll last August on Obama's Syrian red line was about 95:5 against boosting Raytheon stock with a strike on Assad; why do suppose some of those who saw through the lies last August are ready to jump start WWIII in Ukraine?

You keep using that word, "progressive", though it has been clear since before you caught the ban hammer at Hannity that you dont have a clue what it means.
Yet it is you little statist, who is here touting the Obama-Kerry point of view.
