I agree with him. The theme of his statement is one I share with regard to pretty much all laws, policies and regulations designed to protect one from oneself. I think it particularly regarding health and mind altering drug use, which strikes me as a problem that solves itself much baleful viruses and bacteria that, when allowed to do their thing, effect their own demise. Thus, IMO, though we need provisions to penalize such substances use when that use results in the user damaging the person or property of others, we don't need laws and policies prohibiting the use of them, nor do we need fund governmental institutions that have as part of their charge identifying, apprehending, prosecuting and incarcerating drug producers, sellers, transporters, and users solely on account of their being so.

Do you realize how much money the courts and jails would lose if the war on drugs were to end?

"The 'War On Drugs' Is A War On Liberty, Choice, And Responsibility..."
Not really. We must have access to unadulterated food and drink, free of date rape drugs and other drugs.
How would ending the war on drugs stop you from having access to unadulterated food and drink?
I say good for Jeff Sessions. The war on drugs must be fought and it must be won regardless of the collateral damage to some libtard pundit's political feelings.

When they take away our right to say no, they must die.

Sessions hasn't expanded anything.

Do you know how many innocent men and women wouldn't be locked up if there wasn't war on drugs?
Our jails and prison are overfilled already.
Smh.

The progressive moralist want to control other people's lives, they don't believe in freedom because they need to protect you from yourself, or they know what's good for you and you don't. It's like having parents rule over you your entire life....

Thank you Ron Paul. A brave voice of reason. The horrific 'War on Drugs' needs to end. Our Government has killed and imprisoned far too many Citizens in the name of 'Fighting Drugs.'

Libertarian communicator Ron Paul strongly criticized the United States government’s war on drugs in a Saturday interview with host Michael Smerconish at CNN. The interview concerned the Thursday memorandum from US Attorney General Jeff Sessions that rescinded some prior US Department of Justice memoranda providing guidance for US prosecutors to refrain from certain prosecutions of individuals complying with liberalized state marijuana laws.

Addressing Sessions’ memorandum, Paul said that Sessions should be fired and that any attempt by Sessions to expand enforcement of US marijuana prohibition will not be successful in overriding state’s liberalizations via actions including states’ legalization of medical and recreational marijuana...

Besides increasing federal regulations.

It gave the feds the authority to regulate intrastate commerce and even non-commercial activities. It changed the relationship of every individual and the feds and is the authority for the feds to enforce laws federal laws against intrastate commercial activities including pot. Didn't read the article did ya?

The vast majority of street drugs are trafficked and dealt in interstate if not international commerce and fall well within Congress' authority to regulate. Furthermore, when they are trafficked and dealt against the "consumer's" will, they unlawfully deny the "consumer" the ability to engage effectively in interstate commerce, which is absolutely necessary for a healthy economy.

Nice deflection, would you feel the same way about tainted food? That said the post you quoted dealt with the third paragraph of the OP and the regulation of intrastate commerce and activities that occur on an individuals property and never enters commerce.

Audit the drug war not the Fed!

Sadly, we weren't given many choices. I don't agree with Trump on everything. The 'War on Drugs' is a horrific failure. How many more Citizens is our Government gonna kill and imprison in the name of 'Fighting Drugs.'
Thousands, maybe millions more thanks to the people who voted for the WoD's supporters.

No Democrat President dared to end the 'War on Drugs' either. It's continued on throughout several US Presidencies.
You voted to revitalize it and to renew old crackdowns. You know it's true, so stop denying it.

I disagree with Trump and Sessions on this. I agree with Ron Paul. That's how i feel.
So you didn't vote for Trump? Good for you!

I did vote for Trump.
