A group of Bernie Sanders staffers and volunteers is circulating a draft proposal calling on the senator to get out of the presidential race after the final burst of Democratic primaries on June 7, and concentrate on building a national progressive organization to stop Donald Trump.
Sanders allies plot post-primary war on Trump
Operating under the assumption that Sanders will win the California primary but still fall far short of amassing enough delegates to claim the Democratic nomination, the document calls for the Vermont senator to exit the race and launch an independent political group far larger than any other recent post-campaign political operations, such as those started by Howard Dean or Barack Obama.

:0) So many republican pipe-dreams .. so little substance.
I don't understand what Sanders and his supporters don't get about math and loosing?
It was Bernie Sanders decision, alone, to change his party status to run on the Democrat ticket. When he did that he agreed to all of the election requirements and rules set in place. Right now he is abusing the platform that allowed him to participate. The longer he stays in a race he's lost, the more he alienates the Democrat Party, which is obviously the overwhelming majority of Democrats. The more credibility, respect and support he loses.
Bernie Sanders is going to get creamed in California--he won't be able to block Hillary Clinton at the convention, she'll win it long before she gets to the convention. California is a mixed state--but it does not allow Independents to vote in their presidential primaries. Independents are only allowed to vote on specific state ballot issues. California is 546 delegates--and Hillary Clinton is going to take at least 300 or more of them, and at that point she will secure the nomination.
It is mathematically impossible for Bernie Sanders to close this gap. He really should have done the right thing and dropped out of this race when he got clobbered in New York, and donated what was left of his campaign cash to other Democrats that can win. Instead he sent out another mass email to his supporters for more donations, lying to them, telling them there was still hope. Even David Plouffe, Obama's former campaign manager called him a fraud for doing that. They sent in another 28 million and the following week he got clobbered again in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware and Maryland. This coming week he'll probably win Oregon, but he'll lose Kentucky. By winning Oregon that will give him another excuse to stay in this race.
This nursing home candidate is becoming a real pain in the ass.

THE MATH--right now and after West Virginia, where he only gained 5 delegates on Hillary Clinton.
Hillary Clinton has 2,240 delegates & only needs 144 more delegates to secure the nomination.
Bernie Sanders has 1.473 delegates and needs another 910 delegates
There are 1,052 still available which = 910 divided by 1052 = 87% MEANING--that Bernie Sanders needs to win at least 87% of the vote in each and every state still out, or 87% of the delegates still out there. Not going to happen.
Remaining primary schedule:
Tue May 17 Kentucky (D) 61 - Closed winner Hillary Clinton
Tue, May 17 Oregon 73 Closed split between Sanders/Clinton
Sat, Jun 4 Virgin Islands Caucus (D) 12 - Open?
Sun, Jun 5 Puerto Rico Primary (D) 67 - Open?
Tue, Jun 7 California 546 Mixed ** Independents can't vote in the CA presidential primaries
Tue, Jun 7 Montana 27 Open?
Tue, Jun 7 New Jersey 142 Mixed--Same thing--this is Hillary Clinton territory
Tue, Jun 7 New Mexico 43 Closed winner Hillary Clinton
Tue, Jun 7 North Dakota Caucus (D) 23 - Closed winner Hillary Clinton
Tue, Jun 7 South Dakota 25 Closed winner Hillary Clinton
Tue, Jun 14 District of Columbia (D) 46 - Closed--winner Hillary Clinton
So I would sure like some of you Sanders supporters to describe how Bernie Sanders plans to win the nomination or block Clinton at the convention--LOL
