-His net worth is calculated somewhat low due to recently (past few years) purchasing a home. The outstanding mortgage would count against his net worth.
-He has spent his life making extraordinarily generous charitable contributions
-He has already been funneling his wealth to his children and other heirs by transferring ownership of various assets
-He has chosen to use his wealth in life to support his children so that they can save and build their own wealth, in lieu of a larger taxable inheritance

LIke I said, he might just be a man of principle, and even if I vehemently oppose those principles I have to respect him even if I think he is a foaming at the mouth rabid moonbat from hell.
