Seven Ways of Looking at Dennis Rodman

Rodman lashes out in bizarre tirade from North Korea

Dennis Rodman's attempt at "basketball diplomacy" in North Korea isn't starting off so hot. In fact, he can't even get along with American CNN personality Chris Cuomo.

In a bizarre, awkward interview on CNN's "New Day," the former NBA star -- who has traveled to North Korea with a group of other former players for an exhibition game -- lashed out at Cuomo when the host pressed him on political topics.

Specifically, Cuomo raised the issue of US citizen Kenneth Bae, who has been detained in North Korea "for reasons that are unclear," CNN reports.

Rodman -- brandishing a cigar and sporting a blue scarf and gray Red Sox cap -- bristled at the subject, asked Cuomo whether he understood "what Kenneth Bae did" ... and then the interview pretty much spiraled completely out of control.

The player known as The Worm went on an epic rant, telling Cuomo, "I don't give a rat's ass what the hell you think," among other things. But rather than us trying to describe what happens, you should probably just watch for yourself:

The only reason Rodman went to North Korea, was because he wanted to be on the television (hopefully close to Obama), because he's lost his time in the spotlight.

Kinda sad when someone was so famous (who later became irrelevant because of his bullshit antics) has to go and enlist the help of a person who is not only a Communist, but a dictator as well.

Sorry, but Rodman (who should be named "Rid Man" because a lot of people want to be rid of him), is not a diplomat, nor is he someone who should be allowed access to President Obama, because he knows nothing of N. Korea or it's dictator.

Rodman is a jackass looking for fame and a visit with Obama.

I hope Obama tells him to go fuck himself.

He seems to be having a psychotic break. If Rodman loves it so much over there, he should just go and stay. Nothing else to be done about an idiot. Let him go.

I feel sorry for the poor down-on-their-luck bastards who allowed Rodman to talk them into going on this trip.

You could tell by looking at them in the background that they wanted off-camera in the worst way, when Rodman had his psychotic break.

Nothing like realizing that you'd made a huge mistake, while the global cameras are rolling, and unable to find a way out.

Um... we're not at war with North Korea and it's perfectly legal for Westerners and Americans to go over there... so what's the problem?
Yes and No, I think.

We never issued a formal declaration of war against North Korea (given that we fought them under the aegis of the UN) but peace is maintained through a 50-year-old Armistice rather than a formal peace treaty or agreement.

North Korea is our enemy; our bitter, inveterate, sworn, mortal enemy.

Rodman's venture does not go so far as to 'give aid and comfort to the enemy', but it has that same smell to it; merely a tad less pungent than if it were literally true.

This is a dangerous world. Snuggling-up to the leadership of a military autocracy led by a kingly dynasty and manufactured cult of personality is not a good idea.

The problem is the way Rodman is acting. You want to accomplish something with this trip? Then act diplomatic. Don't act like a babbling retard on international television.

I love Jimmy Kimmel's take on the CNN interview:

To make matters worse, Rodman is showboating here at the expense Mr.Kenneth Bae and his family. There is not much comfort for Mr. Bae nor his family given that his fate rests at the hands of two men who should clearly be institutionalized.
