In response to the bad models, we have shut down the economy and now at least 21 states have prematurely ended the school year. With that.....in response to this action...should schools reopen the week after the 4th of July instead of waiting till the fall.

Why should schools stay out of session longer than necessary? The kids will have been out of school about the same length as the typical summer break...so why not send them back early......? By then, the Chinese Virus will have been dealt with and the kids will be ready to go..........

An unusual good idea.

All of my ideas are great....you just had a rare moment of clarity...

LAUSD is pondering giving all students an A for the year and a 4.0 GPA to all graduates. They can do this permanently just as well.

Well, when a D is a passing grade in the State of Cali, handing out A to all 2020 grads would only be fair. ;)

It is crazy in modern times for schools to be on an agrarian schedule. Heating schools and transporting students on icy roads in winter, especially in the coldest northern climes, is totally absurd.
This is just another example of being stuck uselessly in the past.

My plan would be to substitute a winter break instead of a summer break. You would still have vacation time in the summer......2 weeks or so, but you would avoid the cold weather problems trying to get kids to school. Start the vacation Christmas week, and you don't return until March 1........no plowing snow to get kids into school, no waiting in sub zero weather.......

But for now....go back in July.
