If Republicans now want to fund the military, the Senate sent back the means to do so
The White House would note that the GOP "Principled Stand(?)" would not even easily anywhere even thought to be, much less said, even serious. The Senate finally reconvened Monday afternoon and sent the clean CR back to the House in minutes. Anyone on the planet--even barely conscious--can note that the shut-down is now a straight call by the GOP. The House sent the Defense funding option back to the Senate. The Senate essntially, "Fine, now here is how that works." The GOP option is now to cave in on their "Principled Stand(?)" of supporting the National Defense. The alternative is to support their own "Principled Stand" of keeping open a functioning government--even at least as they see it. They can pass a clean CR with support of the Democrats.
