So why is Obama insulting 96.5% of Americans...

It depends on whether your spouse works and their income combined with yours puts you in a different bracket. My spouse does not work. There is a decided advantage to our filing joint Federal taxes.

I would suggest you not make any mistakes on your tax returns, I would hate for your wife to end up in prison because you can't do math.

Wait, she can't because federal law covering spousal liability doesn't apply to same sex couples.

It does if she signed the return

It is actually a little trickier than that.

What? Is that supposed to be a response? No, I can't currently file joint Federal taxes with my spouse. We have to file joint CA taxes and separate Federal. Next year we will be filing joint taxes because DOMA will be repealed.

This will decrease our tax burden because my spouse doesn't work.

That was supposed to point out the advantages, to he, of not being married. By the way, federal ans state tax laws are different, something you will actually find out next year if DOMA is repealed. (By the way, it probably should be.) I would suggest you actually run the numbers before you switch to filing a joint federal return.

Conservatives might well pay a heavy price at the polls, but it would be because the nation as a whole is moving toward depravity and degeneracy. Decency is not tolerated in such a toxic atmosphere.

Decency is in tolerance rather than the depravity and degeneracy of those who bash gays.

If decency is tolerance should we be more tolerant of rapists? Or does your call for tolerance have limits based on your moral judgements?

You really are a windbag.

I don't see any cash prizes anywhere, can you tell me which of the 18 pages has the list?

There's none so blind as those who will not see...

I was told there are cash prizes, I want to see them.

By the way, that government report is not a report on benefits, it is a report on the various federal laws affected by DOMA. Most of that shit in your other link is bullcrap, you can get those benefits without being married, especially the medical benefits. I gave a medical power of attorney to a friend once, that gave him the power to visit me anywhere, and make all those decisions your link claims comes from marriage.

Another poster already proved you're full of shit.

All she proved is that she wasn't paying attention either.

I see...you're the only one paying attention, is that it? And of course, instead of sharing this insider information you think you have, you'll just keep coming back with pithy responses. Let's break this down...

The claim was made that Americans don't want to overturn Roe v Wade. You said that claim was false. Evidence was provided that proved a majority of Americans do not want to overturn Roe v Wade and now you claim that means we aren't paying attention with no evidence to support your claim.

You're just full of shit up to the eyeballs aren't you?

Since I never mentioned repealing Roe v Wade, yes, I am the only one paying attention.

The problem for conservatives is that the "God hates fags" crowd is losing influence. More people meet gays in their daily lives and do not consider them to be evil
More and more Americans look at it as an issue of fairness

Which is why Obama supports fair and equal rights for gays--because that is what the majority of Americans want. He isn't 'courting' the gay vote, he is doing what the majority of Americans want.

Wrong.

Most states with gay marriage on the ballot voted it down.

Polls show that the majority of Americans are in support of gay marriage.
AA March 20–24 CBS News Poll shows that 53% of Americans support same-sex marriage, 39% oppose, and 8% are undecided.[9] The same poll also finds that 33% of Americans who now think same-sex couples should be allowed to legally marry say they once held the opposite view and have changed their opinion.

A March 7–10 Washington Post-ABC News[10] poll shows that 58% of Americans support same-sex marriage while 36% oppose. The poll indicates that 52% of GOP-leaning independents under 50 years old now support gay marriage.[11]

A March Quinnipiac University poll found 47% support and 43% opposed among all voters.[12]

A February Fox News poll indicated that 46% of Americans both support and oppose same-sex marriage.[13]

A February 6–10 CBS News Poll shows that 54% of Americans support same-sex marriage while 46% oppose.[verification

Of course, we could just discount all the other polls and just go with Fox's, as we know that Fox is always 'fair and balanced.'

Rule of thumb, any poll that has 100% of respondents giving an answer is very unusual. I have never seen a poll where there wasn't somebody that didn't have an opinion.

Not that I actually disagree with the results, the country has definitely shifted in favor of SSM, which is why we shouldn't do it through the courts.
