They get the same insurance subsidy as all government employees get. The law took away their employer sponsored insurance. It did not take away the insurance subsidy.

So you don't feel that members of Congress and their staffer should have to live under the same laws they pass on the rest of us?

Which part of the law states YOU must purchase your insurance from the health insurance exchanges?

It doesn't say that. Hence, they aren't exempt from anything.

If however, they didn't have health insurance OR their plan didn't meet the minimum requirements set up by the ACA and at that point they were allowed to keep that plan or weren't forced to buy from the exchanges, then they would be "exempt from Obamacare". But they already have compliant health insurance policies, so why should they have to drop those plans to buy another one from the exchanges?

How is this not sinking in?

What's funny is Republicans who fought against passage proposed this nonsense; now most of the 10,000 plus staff members who are effected by it are Republicans. And what does it accomplish? Nothing, except increasing the governments cost of providing the subsidy.

So they are keeping the subsidy they already had. They are not getting anything new or additional. This is no different than those in the private sector who also have their health insurance subsidized by their employer.

This is faux outrage at its finest.

They get the same subsidy, 70% of the premium however premiums for individual insurance is higher than group insurance, so the government pays more.

Actually the payout is exactly the same. Before the subsidy was paid to the government health insurance plan. Now that those people are being forced off of that plan and on to the exchanges, that subsidy is just being shifted to the exchanges for them to use as they need. So no additional funds are contributed, just shifted from one health plan to another.
