Some people just learn to err on the side of caution (misplaced or accurate), as it is the conservative thing to do, rather than throwing all cautions and precautions to the winds, as that often turns out to be more radically stupid than taking minor precautions. In this case, the mistake is the thinking of the OP, the Republican Speakers person chose was of note, newsworthy or any of his business. This is just another example of what used to be a conservative party, now a fascist dictatorial party, that can't even keep its party members in line, when it comes to personal freedoms of choice when it conflicts in the slightest with party line. I don't wear a mask these days, but I don't care if anybody else chooses to, as it is none of my business if they do.
