I made a deal last week on a CAI build on a STG-58 parts kit. Someone had cut the barrel back to 17.5" so I wanted to see if it was gassed right before bragging it up too much. Sometimes when the barrels are shortened you have gassing problems but this one was GTG. ![Wink ;) ;)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
It was built using a metric EMBEL receiver and a Steyr STG-58 parts kit. I ran 40 rounds through it with no issues. Around 2.5" groups at 100 yards using SA surplus ammo. No complaints. The only thing I did to it was replace the front sling swivel for a Brit SLR swivel and add a proper Austrian STG sling.
