Stop lying Republicans. Stop... MFing... LYING!!!

There used to be a time when I chalked a lot of this kind of thing up to just not knowing the facts, and God knows there's a lot of that going on. It's like when you're a kid and a friend tells you something, and you believe it. And because you believe it, you go out and do something or say something that you later come to regret because you find out that, intentionally or not, you were mislead. From that moment on, if you have any smarts at all, as The Who once sang, you "Won't Get Fooled Again".

But this keeps happening over and over again with the right. Consequently, it can't be plain ignorance. They're intentionally lying. And why would that be? Because when the truth is not on your side, some people feel like they have to lie if they're going to change public opinion toward their position. So, the simple truth is that conservatives lie about everything. Why should this be any different?

It's a combination of lying and ignorance. But ignorance of the worst kind...WILLFUL ignorance. They simply don't want to know the truth. From the minute they detect a whiff that the truth is not on their side, they reject it outright.

Hence, their hatred for the likes of Rachel Maddow. Whom they demonize and attempt to belittle at each and every turn.

It's what got their head bust open during the 2012 election. Their bubble is so airtight that when the light of truth finally hits them, it's like rays of pure sunshine raining down on a batch of evil vampires. Utter and total destruction.

At the moment, I'm not as concerned with the uneducated people who hang on to the utterances of multimillionaires like Rush Limbaugh who talk at great length about tax cuts because it would directly benefit him while transferring the tax burden to his listeners (and everyone else with a regular job, regardless of their political persuasion). Any bone I have to pick is with the men who KNOW they're lying. They're intentionally misleading everyone, not just their sycophantic followers.

There's a book that came out a few years ago that I would suggest everyone should read, both liberal and conservative. It's about supply side economics and the conservatives who have pushed the theory for the last 30-40 years. It's an education in enlightenment and edification. Can't say as I care much for the title, but it's a damn fine examination into how and why we are where we are today. And if there's any group of people who should read it, it's middle class conservatives. Maybe they'll finally wake up to realize how they've been hoodwinked. It's only about 265 pp not counting the end notes and the index. Sorry, no pictures.

I heard about this book.
I've made a note of it and I'll try to get to it at some point. :)

I don't know which poll you are citing, but the reliable polls all show that a majority of Americans are opposed to Obamacare and want it repealed! By the way which government bureaucrat do you want to be reading your wife's record of having a hysterectomy? It is no ones business but yours and the doctor who treats her. *The example of using the word "wife" is for discussion puposes only.

Well, if there are phone calls or emails involved, the Obama and the NSA are in on the action too.

Here is some researched facts of what the majority of Americans can expect from a government controlled healthcare system.

NHS waiting times getting longer due to cuts, health chiefs warn

NHS Confederation report says 64% of senior officials believe £20bn of 'efficiency savings' will worsen patient experience

Sunday 2 June 2013 19.01 EDT

Denis Campbell, health correspondent

A survey of leaders of 185 NHS organisations shows that 64% also believe that patients' experience of the NHS will suffer, while 27% expect the availability of particular treatments or drugs will be hit and 16% fear patient safety will be compromised.

This gloomy view of the NHS's prospects is compounded by 62% describing the financial situation confronting them as "very serious" (40%) or "the worst I have ever experienced" (22%).

NHS rationing 'forcing patients to go private'

NHS rationing 'forcing patients to go private' - Telegraph

By Stephen Adams, Medical Correspondent3:25PM BST 24 Sep 2012

More patients are going private because the NHS is increasingly cutting back on providing a range of treatments.

GPs believe the numbers of patients asking about paying for operations including cataract removal and joint replacements has increased markedly in the last year, according to a poll.

NHS charging and rationing 'may be needed'

By Nick Triggle
Health correspondent, BBC News

The Institute for Fiscal Studies says the coming years will be the toughest since the early 1950s when dental and prescription fees were introduced.

Other measures, including tax rises, could also form part of the solution.

And the review says decisions on the NHS - and social care - will have an impact on other public services too.

The NHS alone accounts for nearly a quarter of public spending.

Canadian Supreme Court Weighs in on Private Healthcare

http://alifmedicineman.blogspot.com/2005/06/canadian-supreme-court-weighs-in-on.html?m=1

Much has been written about the problems currently facing Canada as it comes to grips with some of the shortcomings of its healthcare system. Medical care there is troubled with very poor reimbursement rates, impossibly long waits for appointments with primary care providers, lack of availability of basic diagnostic testing, markedly delayed surgeries and a situation where countless Canadians seek healthcare in the United States. Canada has also experienced a significant exodus of physicians and nurses who seek employment in the United States as well./

Second opinion: Would you seek health care south of the border? - Your Community

A new private health insurance plan will allow Canadians to seek diagnosis and treatment options for serious illnesses or major orthopedic conditions at the famed Mayo Clinic in the United States.

The MyCare Insurance Program is available to Canadians outside of Quebec up to the age of 75.

When it comes to waiting for health care, Canada is last in line

A major international survey says Canadians wait longer for health care

When it comes to waiting for health care, Canada is last in line - Week in Review - Macleans.ca

For decades, wait times have been a consistent and much-lamented component of the Canadian health care system. Within the strictures of medicare, we endure lengthy waits for family doctors, specialists, tests, therapy, beds and on and on. Canadians, in fact, wait longer and more often for health care than citizens in all other developed countries.

Earlier this month, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) released a major survey on international health care waiting lists and policies. Canada is at the bottom of the pack in almost every category. One example among many: 25 per cent of Canadian patients waited more than four months for non-emergency, elective surgery, the highest proportion of any country reported. The figure is 18 per cent in Australia and seven per cent in France, Switzerland and the United States.

Prescription drug expenses in Canada a health-care barrier, researchers argue

Even those with insurance coverage face difficulties, article suggests

Prescription drug expenses in Canada a health-care barrier, researchers argue | UToday | University of Calgary

High drug expenses in Canada are a significant barrier for people to access prescription drugs outside of hospital, according to an analysis article in Canadian Medical Association Journal.

Even those with insurance may face difficulties affording medications as most insurance plans require copayments by patients, thereby presenting a barrier to accessing needed drugs. While provincial governments cover most or all drug costs for seniors and those receiving social assistance, the “working poor” (households with an annual income less than $29,999) do not have the same benefits, which can result in high rates of noncompliance and failure of patients to fill their prescriptions.

I'm sure the left believes that ACA in the United States will be the only exception to the rule of a government run health care system. Hell, even the state of Massachusetts has extensive waiting periods and budget problems. The idea that government can be more cost effective, is an illusion to say the least..... talk about "lying". The writing is already on the wall, and many educated and informed opponents already know it.

congress is not exempt from obamacare, but they voted themselves exempt from the higher premiums resulting from obamacare.

they voted themselves a 72% subsidy of their premiums, that subsidy will be paid by us, the taxpayers.

which of you got a subsidy of your premiums? Hmmmmm?

So far, if they able to get to the exchange page, once they find out they still have to pay, they say screw it.

Obamacare is a failure.

The President keeps saying that he will not be blackmailed over the Health Care by Republicans.

The New Health Care Bill does exactly that with our young folks.
They are being blackmailed to either pay for a Health Care Exchange or they have to pay a tax. That tax goes up each year.
95.00 the 1st year
325.00 the 2nd year
695.00 the third year.
It goes up at the rate of inflation each year after that.
The Health Care Exchanges have low premiums, but have ridiculous amounts of high deductions. from 2,000.00 up to over 6,000.00.

Did you know that the Federal Blue Cross Blue Shield premiums costs under 500.00 for each member of congress (the one that Barney Frank has) and the Government pays 75% of the rest of it?
The Deductible is 250.00.

The Democrats are defending themselves to keep what they have.
I think that Congress should go on the same plan as the New Health Care Law.
Why should our young people have to pay for such high deductibles while congresses is at 250.00?

The thread title is misleading. The fact that Obama won the '08 and '12 elections is not proof that Americans are in favor of Obamacare.

He ran on his healthcare plan on BOTH elections and won...TWICE. The Republicans ran on OPPOSING Obamacare with McCain and Romney. They were BOTH soundly rejected. SOUNDLY!

The status quo is not cutting it. The majority of the People wanted MORE, not less involvement in the healthcare situation.

When will you radicals stop lying?

If Obamacare is so great why does it have to be forced on the American people?

Logic would dictate that if it was truly something good every American would happily sign up. But that's not the case now is it?

I can tell you no one pays for me except me.

To bad our elected leaders get to vote themselves anything they want at our expense, of course. They won't have to take dollar one from their pocket to pay for THEIR hc.

agreed. if it was so great there would be no need to require it.

How can anyone be "for" something that nobody read before they past it? Has anybody read the thing?

Have you? Have you read any bill presented to the President after it had gone to conference committee and comported it to the bill before the CC modified it?

I'm for it; health care in America needed reform. If problems exist now that the ACA is law they can be fixed over time. Those intent on killing the law do so out of self interest, not because they give a damn about our country or our people.

yes it did, but obamacare is not healthcare reform

As one poster earlier noted, that some programs cannot have an opt out because they should be mandatory. That there should not be a minority that can escape from participating..

All of the polls show they are against it.
The people were polled just last month, so even though they voted for Obama, does not mean they are for the New Health Care Law.

RealClearPolitics - Election Other - Public Approval of Health Care Law

None of the polls have moved much one way or the other.
the vast majority are against it.

There are people out there too that really know nothing about it, but they're for it! I know a girl that though this was the greatest thing ever....we were talking on Monday and I asked her when she was going to sign up with the exchange to get obamacare. She had no idea what I was talking about. She didn't know she had to sign up, or be fined for not. I would have thought our government would have done a mass mailing with information for all taxpayers on what they would need to do and what would be covered. But no, they want to keep us all in the dark. With something this big, and they just assume people are going to understand it all....wow, talk about stupid!

Mayby you should stop lying.

From everything I've read a majority of americans think Obamacare stinks.

Oh they like some parts of it for the most part they think it stinks.
