Looking at where Trump really beat the 2012 presidential results, it was small and medium sized cities, and rural areas, where he did better. He did worse in huge metropolises.
There is no correlation on race, Trump beat Romney's totals by 20 or 30 points regardless of whether a town had a large or small black population. The "theory" is just a way to try and delegitimize our president with the racism slur.

It is a natural state of being for weak human beings. We all seek out those who are most like us, either in appearance or education or in other other ways.
Repubs used to be the party that championed an end to racism. That has changed.
It is now Dems who want equality for all races, all life-styles, all sexual identities.
Its Repubs and RWNJs who want an end to equality of any kind.
