"Assault Weapons" are used in a tiny number of shootings compared to overall. So banning them won't reduce shootings or fatalities.
But once they ban "assault weapons" then it's open season. Ban the .50 BMG. Ban mag capacities over 10 rounds. Ban hollow point bullets. Ban semi auto handguns. Ban magnum caliber revolvers. ban ban ban
Because the solution to the failure of socialist policies is always more socialism.

As an aside what exactly took 3 hours? The police were there within 5 minutes? Does Orlando have no swat team?

This is exactly what happened at Columbine. The police showed up and then waited outside for way too long.

I think these type cases should be handed over to the Navy Seals or Rangers who are trained to not wait for 3 minutes let alone 3 hours. Very specifically targeted instances like this where the local authorities are too scared to act. 3 hours is ridiculous.
