T-shirts at a memorial service aren't political?

Yep. this is what is important. Not 6 dead Americans.

I'm actually happy this thread was started. It has made it much easier for me to finally weed out the loony fringers from the serious adults.

Yes,

it is the minority of Americans who believe that "evil though rays" from Beck, Palin and Rush will make people do things

No doubt you agree with
Liberal NYT's columnist blasts Left for “witch hunt” after Tucson shootingIt’s not Ross Douthat or David Brooks, either, but Charles Blow — the same writer who once called black Tea Party activists a “political minstrel show.” Blow admits that the temptation to lay the blame for the shootings in Tucson on the Right was strong, but that in doing so, and in insisting on sticking with the attacks after all the evidence showed that the shooter was an apolitical lunatic, the Left have adopted an “any means necessary” approach that will destroy their credibility

Then again, you may be part of the "tin-foil" hat crowd on the Left

(Captain they put thoughts into my mind)

There is something "wellstone memorialesque" about turning a memorial service into a political even. This one wasn't nearly as bad as that event, but the t-shirts were inappropriate. I don't think it honors the 6 dead Americans to provide such slogan themed souvenirs.

What on earth does "together we thrive" mean for 6 dead people? Are they being buried in a mass grave?

You don't need a Ph.D to figure out why. It's so obvious it was meant to put a lid on foreseeable bickering, but to no avail. Would you have *got it* if the theme had resurrected "United We Stand"????? (Probably not. Obama then would have been accused of plagiarizing.)

Of course one doesn't need a Ph.D to see cynical political exploitation of a tragedy.

But one does need a sense of decency. Apparently you lack that.

when people of tucson see these shirts being worn in their community what do you think will be the reaction?

There were pamphlets and banners with the same theme displayed throughout town. The irony here is that it appears these critical fringers are suggesting that the entire city of Tucson is somehow now in Obama's camp. If that's true, then there are some very fickle people living there.

Organizing for America / mybarackobama.com has a history of localized astroturf. "Together We Thrive" is yet another example.

I see the SF-Oakland-Berkeley efforts on a very frequent basis.

what a stupid saying anyway, Together We thrive..

and even more stupid handing out t-shirts at a memorial.

lefties have the market on low class.

More the inability to admit they were wrong on Papa Obama...with the real loons on the Left, Obama is almost "god-like"
Which is why, the Left's hateful rhetoric is so dangerous for some of them; it takes on an almost "devotional tone".

Actually, in some ways the Left and Liberalism is like a religion:
-Contrary to observations and empirical data, the Left still believes the State can cure all and make a "heaven on earth".
-A demand that all people have equity of results as opposed to equality before the "eyes of the law"
(yes indeed, we are all equal, in all ways, before the eyes of God,er... the State)

- The State, as opposed to God, is the final judge in ALL decisions; it is Divine, above all reproach.
- forced conversion through education; taxation and even their immature attempt with thought control via "PC" speech
-Their willingness, desire and passion to submit themselves and society to the State, above the individual.
(The Lord, er.. State is my shepherd, I shall not want)
You can see many manifestations of this with things like their "belief" in Global warming er...; cooling er..., Climate Change:
It is based not on fact but their agreement with the concept that State is the only solution in the "paradigm".
Indeed, notice how with the climate they have now set it up to be a non false-able or non-
refutable proposition- i.e. all weather changes are due to Global Warming. When one sets up a theory that is non false-able, it is not science. It is a matter of Faith. How quick would they be to believe this nonsense, if the solution was for less gov't?

It will also, on occasion, take on a "cult" like feel with their dependency for hero worship eg. See anything Obama.

Not doubt, this behavior is more due the the "religious nature" of liberalism than anything.

Yes, only a "prophet" can take us out from the "darkness" of our world and led us to our new social utopia.

Instead of the cries of "heretic" from the Left, they are replaced with cries of "racist" or even better "denier" in the case of climate beliefs.
Yes, denier indeed!

One has to wonder if the women, having a "religious" experience, posts here

Jake, just because I am right of center does not make me far right. Just as you being left of center does not make you far left. And please, do yourself a favor and don't try to deny that.

Do not deny that you are far right of center, and never ever believe that I am "left of center" as the far right defines it. I have voted Republican in my years far more than Democrat, and will continue to do so.

Go take the politicalcompass.org/text assessment and learn about yourself.

The issue is that the far right, and particularly the Tea Party (not you), believes that it is mainstream. Most of them, like Boehner, want to go back to the fifties and sixties.

That is not going to happen.

Probably not, but you cannot deny that it has been used by the Obama machine.

A blogger...."the Obama Machine" :doubt:

Organizing for America web site with obamas special little seal at the top? Yes I have to say Obama machine.

Moonbattery: Tucson Massacre Branding Was Recycled

Has anyone actually considered that the students really didn't have a whole lot of time to get those t-shirts made and probably DID swipe the logo from somewhere on Obama's website. How long would it have taken to design something of their own, get it screen printed or however it's done in bulk these days, and produced that many shirts with the memorial service to be held in less than a week?

Again, if they stole the design, so fucking what.

Bush was not Hitler yet not America's answer. Obama is not a marxist yet not America's answer. That is why I call out far left and far right. As I told you in public messaging, "My calling out the errors and mistakes of the far far right irritates them, because I know that unregulated capitalism and libertarianism, along with socialism, violates our American birthright and hope for the future. I can't change the left at all, but I have influence in my community to isolate the wack part of the Tea Party members and the libbies from decision making in the GOP; I don't want their policies for our candidates, only their votes. I support Mitt Romeny wholeheartedly and without any reservation. So when you wiggies start wagging, I simply grin."

Any whining about the logo merely define the naysayers' weakness of position.

You just described yourself and the supporters of your goofy assertion.

Play politics elsewhere and respect the dead and their sacrifice.

The nation as a whole rejects your POV.

Comrade,

I hate to inform you; but, this whole reaction by the Left and the MSM over the last few days has been of the "tin-foil" hat variety.

In connection with the their "Palin Derangement Syndrome"
this has really brought out the "loonies' and the worst from the Left, as evidenced even by your own postings.

For example of more Left loonies see:

I BEG of you, DO NOT TAKE OFF YOUR TIN FOIL HAT! If you do then Sarah Palin or Tea Party People will get into your head and cause you to do horrible things and provoke you to do violence. Sorry pal, but when you get down to it, this has been the lame argument by the Left and the MSM for the last few days.

I see that you are a follower of not only Lynn Stuter but also Saul Alinksy.

America is turning its back on Palin, rightfully so.

Jake,

I am quite surprised. I believed you strong enough to fend off the "evil thought rays"

I highly recommend that you join our Leftist friends and wear a "tin-foil" hat
to protect you from the evil thought rays originating from Sarah Palin, Beck, Rush and Tea Party members.

Jake you must be strong !
You do not want to end up like some on the Left have already:

"Hero" of the Left is being locked up for observation

Fuller is facing misdemeanor charges for making a threat and disorderly conduct. He is also being involuntarily committed.

KTAR.com - Tucson shooting victim arrested on television show

"involuntarily committed" ?

That's strange .....

20 Percent Of Americans Suffer From Mental Illness

and

20 percent Of Americans identify as Liberal

Funny how that works
:eusa_whistle:

-----------------------------------------------------

Lynn Stuter? No, too LaRouche like for me and therefore too Democrat like

Saul Alinksy, yes indeed very useful and insightful on your part (but even a broken clock is correct twice a day) :eusa_angel:
My motherland has taught me well

It is like the Art of War: (WARNING- some may need to put on their "tin-foil" hat before reading)
If you know the enemy and know yourself,
you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.
If you know yourself but not your enemy,
for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat.
If you know neither the enemy nor yourself,
you will succumb in every battle.

Attempting to draw a connection between your two 20% links is downright hilarious, especially since the Gallup poll you cite is two years old and actually shows a LOSS of moderates from conservatism. Most intelligent folk understand that "liberals" do not make up the entire character of the Democratic party. Nice try, but no cigar.

Good satire is sometimes lost on the dim-witted

I don't consider myself far right, nor Do I support Palin for president. (unless it was her or Obama) And this Blog appeared on Obama's official site. Kind of moves it from just some mere blog.

But again, believe what you will.
Anyone can post on "Obama's official site," even YOU!!!

Isn't that a fact

Marxists/Socialists/Communists for Obama

:eusa_whistle:

They have removed ones before, except for this one

How dumb. Who would they support? Republicans? Socialists/Communists also have problems with Obama not being liberal enough. But of course you wouldn't know that by having your nose continually stuck in right-wing pages that promote your bizarre ideologies instead of reality.

Being more liberal means being more Communist? - How dumb is that....

Who would they support- why is that?

speaking of bizarre ideologies, I can see you are wearing your tin-foil hat as we speak
