The way I understand it is that we are not "taking" the oil, but preventing ISIS leftovers from gaining a valuable asset.

You see Mr. Kinetta, I have not taken your car...I am only seizing it to prevent 'thieves' from taking it.
Once we have apprehended all possible thieves, and determined there are no further threats of theft we will discuss returning it to you.

Will the deconfliction zone of 55 km be maintained, and will we maintain the air base built there Not on Trump's watch, but on Obama's watch.

Nothing new to forward deployed bases in War...........but Trump said this one cost a lot of money. Didn't say anything about closing it. But said the oil wells we are talking about are near there. So the Oil wells must be in that zone.

If wiki is right.......lol.......it is a secure zone of 55km that no foreign fighters are allowed in. Not Syria, Russia........hmmmm.............anyone........anyone trying to go there will be killed by U.S forces and have been killed trying it.

Getting paid to get it out of the ground is different than ownership of the oil. They get paid to drill .......but if it isn't their leash or property.........they don't really own it.
