Tea Party Governor Signs Bill Banning Direct Tesla Sales

Even if they are American made who the hell can afford an all electric car?

What you plug them into your outlets at your home? Seriously people it's a great concept by most Americans can't AFFORD to own and drive them

"What you plug them into your outlets at your home" :cuckoo:

Tesla's real problem is they are only selling about 16,000 cars annually. Hardly big enough to support dealerships. Also a real gamble for buyers needing future support for service.

With that standard there will never be any new car brands unless they can sell millions of units immediately.

Tesla was founded in 2003 and introduced the Model S in 2008. They showed a profit in 2013. It is actually a pretty amazing story.

Also, if you spend a little extra on the Supercharger option, you can charge at one of the 119 charging stations (in 2015 there will be a supercharging station within range of 98% of teh population) for free for life. Free charging at roadside stations sounds pretty decent to me. You can get a half charge in about 20 mins.

all this over some frikken CAR. unbelievable
the rest of us are trying to pay for gas and the high price of food to feed our families

And some people are willing to spend $60k or more for a car. Is that bad?

And most utility companies cannot raise their prices on a whim, like happens at the gas pump. And depending on how the electricity is generated, far less of the money goes out of the country.

The U.S. should be responsible for about half of Tesla’s sales. Inside EVs has the company selling 3,900 Model S’ in the quarter while Motor Intelligence (aka Autodata) projection is 4,400.

Analysis Of Tesla Sales By Geography - Forbes

The lack of electric vehicle charging stations along major travel routes in Arizona is hindering sales and functionality of electric cars throughout the state. Without them, drivers are limited to travel within metropolitan areas where stations are more abundant.
According to the U.S. Department of Energy website, there are 275 charging locations with 696 charging outlets in Arizona, excluding private stations. Only 11 of those are outside of the greater Tucson and Phoenix metropolitan areas, according to the department’s map.

If one state is doing something that I think is wrong, I will speak out against it. If one state has it's politicians bought by those who would try to ruin something new & revolutionary, just to remove competition, I will speak out against it.

As Burke said, "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing".

The people of Michigan put them in office, and they can vote them out. This sort of interference with our lives is what true conservatives used to be against. Seems that has changed.

These days it's all about the Benjamins.

Tesla sold around 6,900 cars in the 4th quarter of 2013.

"While Tesla has not said how many of those 6,900 cars were sold in the United States--we would expect to learn that next month on its next conference call--the company likely sold between 18,000 and 20,000 Model S cars in the U.S. during 2013."

Since there is currently a waiting list for the Tesla Model S, the numbers are similar.
