The kid did not shoot people when he had the chance and the officer at the scene did not use his gun to actually stop the attack....the kid was tackled.....the kid did not surrender at gun point...which would have been a defensive use, and he didn't run away....another defensive use, and he wasn't shot, injured or killed...

But....the gun was there to deal with the situation...showing that a gun would have stopped him had he kept going and endangered someone...so you are wrong brain...the kid got lucky when the teacher tackled him.....

And the Uber driver event counts as a defensive gun Use....DGU because he actually used a gun to stop the shooter from shooting....he shot 6 times and hit the guy 3 times....which is a better hit ratio than police.......

See brain......it is a defensive gun use if the defender uses a gun to stop or prevent a violent criminal attack or save lives.....the gun does not even have to fire, but it must be the reason the attacker stopped his attack.......

Actually the real world supports me, not you. You claim millions of DGUs. Real world 230 criminals shot in defense, 50 reported defenses each year, people who have had a defense are rare....

You claimed shooters aren't stopped by unarmed people yet it had happened twice now recently. You are not in reality.

brain.....230 criminals are killed....but on average 1.6 million are stopped or prevented from carrying out violent criminal attacks by law abiding citizens with guns......

and I never claimed people aren't stopped by unarmed people....I claim it is stupid to force them to have to because you hate guns.....and I also posted that the few you claim were great examples of why people don't need guns and just need to tackle shooters are bad examples where the people tackling the guy were just plain lucky they succeeded.......

He is saying if the teacher had a gun it would have been a defense. But since the teacher tackles him well then it doesn't count. Sorry but there is a lot of dishonesty in that. Just like him claiming to know the shooters intentions. More dishonesty.

He grabbed a kid shooting a gun, yeah....but the kid wasn't trying to hit anyone.....as far as we can tell at this point from witnesses who were there......and he was lucky the kid wasn't shooting at anyone because odds are he would have been shot as he tried to tackle the kid......as happened at Luby's, Fort Hood, Sandy Hook..........

Reports are he tackled him from behind. So yes an unarmed teacher stopped a shooting.
