The article from 3 days ago, recounts the story that Paxton and company have been investigating these people since the 2022 midterms, gathering the evidence they needed to obtain the search warrants. The raids were carried out over time early in the month of August, and the victims are now speaking out, and filing suit.

They've spent the past two years gathering evidence and the past month going through the computers and cell phones seized, and still no charges, and no evidence?????

This is a gross violation of their civil rights - which is what Republicans do. Like Ron Desantis issuing Voter ID cards and then falsely charging people who used them to vote, filing more than 20 charges of voting irregularities - all of which were subsequently dismissed. These charges were filed right before the 2022 midterms, to discourage those who had obtained voting ID card after a felony conviction from voting, after Florida lost their SC challenge to their laws.

Now we have Ken Paxton raiding the homes of voting rights activists, right before the 2024 election. Tell us again this isn't meant to keep Latino voters from turning out.

After the last election, he prosecuted and jailed a black woman who was issued a voter ID card who was on probation or otherwise should not have been issued the card. She was sentenced to 5 years in jail. As Paxton was carrying out these raids, her conviction was overturned and she was freed.

I hope she sues his ass for wrongful prosecution.
