If he had done the research, he woud have learned that the Johnson programs helped create the black middle class. He also would have learned that the no man in the house provision was created by white conservatives. He also would have known about the mothers pension progrm that lasted for years before LBJ that provided money for single white women who had chiden with no man around. and he woud have learned that the no man in the house provision was ended by a blck woman in King v. Smith, 392 U.S. 309, 88 S. Ct. 2128, 20 L. Ed. 2d 1118 (1968).
