The BLM Paradox

Despite its lofty name, the Black Lives Matter movement actually devalues black lives by elevating the status of black criminals to that of innocent representatives of all black people. Even though the vast majority of police-related deaths result from criminal activity, BLM characterizes these incidents as typical of interactions between police and black people in the U.S.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The majority of police actions are not racially inspired any more than a majority of black people are criminals. To equate the two is a deliberate deception on the part of BLM to marginalize legitimate police functions while ignoring the alarming death rates of black Americans from other causes.

Too many people have been guilted into buying the false claim that saying (and believing) that ALL lives matter is some kind of code for claiming that black lives don't matter. The BLM folks have tried to hammer this into the national consciousness since the beginning because it robs them of the racially-exclusive nature of their movement. It's a kind of moral/mental segregation that has been strong-armed into acceptance by too many Americans who fear being labeled "racist" more than anything else. With so many actual racists on all sides, Americans of good will cannot afford to divide further. A rational, equitable person can recognize that of course black lives DO matter and at the same time that in a larger sense ALL lives DO matter as well. Social/political insistence on controlling semantics does not unite or promote the good.

95% of BLM supporters couldn't spell or define the word paradox. They are mindless idiots who follow the lead of people on social media with the platform to spew their divisive and race baiting garbage. That is the problem. They are incapable of thinking for themselves or taking 30 minutes to actually research facts and statistics. They are just looking to feel like they are a "part of something" or a "part of a movement". They want to feel important.

Everyone wants to talk, no one wants to listen. No way forward that way.

Racists being asked to admit that Black lives matter will not rest until they found an excuse to get rid of that outrageous imposition. The mental gymnastics, usually with a whiff of supremacy wafting from hysterically agitated ... "minds", are cute, though.

To put it more precisely, it stinks. Police are there to serve and protect. Abusing or executing presumed-criminal Blacks is not part of that - even though the slave-owner-state tradition might suggest as much to this very day.

Are you really under the impression that relating everything and anything to the antebellum South is going to contribute to positive change today?
