No it's not 'Nuff sed'. Use logic and tell me what caused the deaths of those Kurds? No, I'm not sure about that. You think?
Really?
What happened to all that certainty?
Do you deny that Kurds were killed by the use of WND's in north Iraq on March 16, 1988?
But it's STAGGERING that you've gone back to the '80s in an attempt to obfuscate and excuse Bush and his Administration for their blunders and lies.
Nuff sed.
Well when you can't defend Obama go back to attacking Bush.
Democrats didn't control Congress until the 2006 mid-terms, 3 years after the war started.Look you moron, a democrat controlled congress most of which believed Saddam had WMD's approved the war in Iraq.
He deliberately lied this country into a war that cost over 4000 American lives, over 1 million Iraqi lives, over 1 trillion US tax dollars, contributed to our economic meltdown, destroyed our reputation around the world, shit on our American heritage and the worse thing of all, in light of everything this country sacrificed on this illegal and immoral war, we got nothing in return for that investment. And whether or not I held Bush responsible for anything is irrelevant.
I can't help but notice the OP is lacking of quotes from all the Democrats who also said Saddam had WMDs. Including our current Secretary of State.
Saddam did have WMD. Ask the Kurds.
Hans Blix, the man whose job it was to find out if he did have them, said in his last report, he had not found any evidence of them as of that date, which was March of 2003. Why wasn't he allowed to "stay the coarse" and "finish his mission"? There was no reason to rush to war at that time.He had them.
He used them...
Hillary thought they had them.
John Kerry thought they had them.
The Democrats were for the war and voted for sending troops.
I guess some Libs here watched that show on MSNBC....
so it's time to rehash this again.
..and he did have them. Google is you're friend.
I knew we'd have one...
Donald Rumsfeld said:For bureaucratic reasons, we settled on one issue, weapons of mass destruction (as justification for invading Iraq) because it was the one reason everyone could agree on.
Paul Wolfowitz said:It was a surprise to me then Eit remains a surprise to me now Ethat we have not uncovered weapons, as you say, in some of the forward dispersal sites. Believe me, it's not for lack of trying. We've been to virtually every ammunition supply point between the Kuwaiti border and Baghdad, but they're simply not there.
Please provide that proof of the WMDs that were found.
Thanks.
We knew he had them back in the late 80's and early 90's, because we're the ones who sold him the gas.Saddam did have WMD. Ask the Kurds.
i see he was in good company -

So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real..."

Democrat Quotes on WMD
LOL
Oh come on now. You don't think anyone on the left on this board wants to admitt that the Dems were on board with Iraq war now do you??
It was all Bush and neither the Dems or Congress had anything to do with it.
Old, decaying cans of sarin buried and forgotten in the desert, are not WMD's...and he did have them. Google is you're friend.
I knew we'd have one...
Thanks.
Perhaps I can assist ? See the 'Iraq WMD Declassified' link below >>
Iraq WMD Declassified
Yes - you'll see that this refers to FIVE HUNDRED of them.
Granted, what's referred to is NOT a stockpile of WMD's in pristine condition. But then, UN Resolution 1441 never insisted that they needed to be. Besides, even the WMD's found, had terrorists captured them instead, had significant terrorist potential.
In case you're wondering, this document became 'public knowledge' in the summer of 2006, courtesy of a press conference held by Rick Santorum (he was one of those on its distribution list, along with Nancy Pelosi, amongst others) - which, 'strangely', was NOT widely reported.
Fox News was one of the few exceptions. They kept a Web link to this same document accessible from their site, which is where I learned about it myself. To my knowledge, NO European media outlet reported on it AT ALL, amounting, surely, to a news blackout about it !!
I can't help but notice the OP is lacking of quotes from all the Democrats who also said Saddam had WMDs.
Here's my source: A History Of Lies: WMD, Who Said What and When
There were no LWers quotes there.
However, I'm not opposed to them.
I selected the quotes not based on party affiliation, but on content.
Look at the certainty in their words.
I gaurantee that no matter what LWer quote you provide they won't be as certain, or as pro-going-to-war as the statements in my OP.
Go for it.
Moreover, that he was determined to use them.
We now know that was a blatant LIE.
Here's some of the gems that brought us to war with the wrong country for the wrong reasons. These are all quotes...
George Bush said:Saddam's removal is necessary to eradicate the threat from his weapons of mass destruction
Donald Rumsfeld said:Simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction.
Donald Rumsfeld said:We'll find them. It'll be a matter of time to do so.
George "aWol" Bush said:I'm absolutely sure that there are weapons of mass destruction there and the evidence will be forthcoming. We're just getting it just now.
With all that alleged certainty, you don't just NOT be able to prove it. They lied to us, and they lied repeatedly and for a singular purpose of getting the country in a frame of mind to go to war.
How do the Republicans of USMB reconcile this? What's your response?
We knew he had them back in the late 80's and early 90's, because we're the ones who sold him the gas.Saddam did have WMD. Ask the Kurds.
But he had no WMD's after 1993 and couldn't make any because we destroyed his infrastucture.
In 1995, Hussein Kamal, Saddam's son-in-law, and the chief organizer of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program, defected to Jordan. He revealed that Iraq was continuing to conceal weapons and missiles and the capacity to build many more.
Then and only then did Iraq admit to developing numbers of weapons in significant quantities and weapon stocks. Previously, it had vehemently denied the very thing it just simply admitted once Saddam Hussein's son-in-law defected to Jordan and told the truth. Now listen to this, what did it admit?
It admitted, among other things, an offensive biological warfare capability notably 5,000 gallons of botulinum, which causes botulism; 2,000 gallons of anthrax; 25 biological-filled Scud warheads; and 157 aerial bombs.
And I might say UNSCOM inspectors believe that Iraq has actually greatly understated its production.
As if we needed further confirmation, you all know what happened to his son-in-law when he made the untimely decision to go back to Iraq.
Text Of Clinton Statement On Iraq - February 17, 1998
Regime change in Iraq did start during the Clinton Administration, but it didn't start with "slick Willie".As was President Clinton, and all the leadership of the Democratic Party before the Bush Administration even began.
It looks like they were all right, too.
So, your point then is ??
But he didn't send in troops. We knew he had them back in the late 80's and early 90's, because we're the ones who sold him the gas.Saddam did have WMD. Ask the Kurds.
But he had no WMD's after 1993 and couldn't make any because we destroyed his infrastucture.
President Clinton thought he did;
