Top Senate Democrats Stand Behind Obama On Immigration

Obama could announce plans for executive action on immigration as soon as this week. According to preliminary reports, the president is likely to allow millions of undocumented immigrants to stay in the U.S. and to receive temporary work authorizations. The plan could also make changes to the controversial Secure Communities enforcement program, allow immigrants with high-tech skills and their spouses to gain citizenship, and send more funding to police the southern border.

The Senate Democrats' letter specifically addresses some of these issues. It asks Obama to make enforcement "more effective, humane, and non-discriminatory" by, among other measures, "refining" the Secure Communities program. The letter also endorses plans to allow employers to sponsor "more talented immigrants" to become U.S. citizens.

Lead us home, back to our real American values, Mr. President.

Not so fast. I think amnesty w/o employee verification and punishment for employing illegal aliens would ultimately be a bad thing for America and politically a very bad move.

look at the sudden flood of DNC talking points...The afternoon email must have gone out to the operatives.

This is nothing short of treason.

But we don't do anything anymore to stop assholes like the Op. jezzz, we're fucked.

You can look at the Roman Empire. They greatly expanded their territory and incorporated many many new people into the Empire. That resulted in expanded trade, a stronger talent pool, a greater work force, etc.. But, the thing that made Rome great ultimately became its worst downfall. The Empire became too incoherent, unwieldy, and diluted of national character, and it fell.

Isn't it possible that massive immigration can spell a country's success during one chapter in its history, but can spell its demise during another? I would say so. What ultimately killed Rome was the open gate.

More lies to sell us something. They lied to pass O-care and they are lying to push amnesty. They still haven't gotten the message sent by voters. The country is not behind liberal policies.

need to keep those illegals suppressed so the rich far left drones can have their cheap labor and not pay into the system..

An immigration reform bill passed bipartisanly in the Senate.

All John Boehner has to is have an up and down vote.

The GOP will lose 2016 massively if it does resolve this issue in favor of all Americans.

Just so.

In favor of all Americans...

Not in favor of Illegal Aliens...

That's what all the fuss is about...

Lack of Transparency and the stupidity of all those who support it will guarantee it.

Ye, in Moronland, the midterms including Oregon going against Obama are a clear sign the country in "lining up behind him"

Obama is gonna look even worse if he keeps pushing a dictatorship. Amnesty is very unpopular.

In favor of all Americans? What kind of bullshit are talking about? The majority of Americans are against amnesty.
